My Bat 1 was missing back cover. 3 years ago I found a guy selling front and back cover on eBay. Both covers were glued to a notebook binder. Matt was able to remove both and dry clean them. I graded the front cover and it got blue label. I kept the back and it's with my Bat1 sitting in a mylar. No plans to attach it.
Before and after of back cover.
Didn’t know this could be done! Do you mind sharing how the back of the cover looks like after removing from the binder?

has 33 now jumped 35?
I think this is accurate considering GPA has 1.5s at $11k and $15k one year ago (Nov/Dec 2016) and now it's more than doubled to $30k

6.0 and higher are tough especially 7.0 and higher.
My experience has been the same, but I’d say 6.5 is where it gets starts getting hard to find. This is relatively speaking to other silver age books of course.... if you normally dabble in golden age “tough to find” is a whole new level

Private sale. So rarely do these come up for auction so I jumped on it

Good price. Nice copy.
Really good price. I paid way more for my 7.5 earlier this year

You still have a 9.8 or 9.6 available to sell? If so, I'd love to work out a deal! Have been trying to find this book forever.
A few months old but if you we’re still interested in a 9.6 white pager let me know. May consider letting mine go now

That nice looking 2.5 on comic link is starting to look like a relative bargain at full ask.
-J.
The 2.5 on clink has had a max bid at $77,777 for the longest time with no one willing to bid more. I would have thought that would put a ceiling on the 1.5 Comicconnect copy at most $31-35k per point

That's awesome, congrats! You let it go 'cause you got an upgrade, right?
Thanks! Ya, tough to let go but can’t justify keeping two copies

I saw that too ! Seems high this soon out of the gate ? (maybe not anymore)
$31k for cap 1 definitely seems pretty high out the gate but I think the 2.5 copy sitting on clink with the high bid at $77k could likely restrict how high this 1.5 will go

Any thoughts to the tape on the 1.5 CC copy? Seems like it was graded when tape “helped” the grade. Is it a 1.0 with detached cover in today’s grading standards?

A Voldy .3 missing the back cover and a front that looked like it went through a washing machine appears to have recently sold for almost $6k!
Sold for $4800 as per watchcount. Pretty strong price considering it looked like in rough shape

I was horrified to see the description of the 8.0 Detective 33 in Heritage's current auction. It first states Overstreet's current ranking of the book and how it has moved up the list recently, then that it wn cover, then that Batman is wearing a gun holster on the cover, and finally, almost as an afterthought, in the blandest possible terms, the description mentions that the origin of Batman is inside.
I would have thought they would at minimum copy CGC’s key comments which now include the book as being the (while minor) first appearances of Thomas and Martha Wayne along with joe chill. Those are on the cgc label but not in the heritage descriptions so they probably just “recycle” their narratives over the years

Anyone use art sorb in their safety deposit box? If so, what humidity beads do you have?
