  1. Agreed, thanks. I figured eBay would automatically charge the winner or something. They should ban after 1 strike. This is for charity fer chrissakes
  2. The J. Scott Campbell Zatanna piece is back up on eBay. I guess the winner backed out. I'm not that familiar with eBay bidding, how can a winner back out of the winning bid??
  3. You can look them all up on eBay, just look for his sold listings. It went for $14.4k
  4. In a video chat with Kevin Smith Jim mentioned that 1 bidder purchased 5 pieces already, so I wonder if it's the same person.
  5. +1 on @stinkininkin being one of the nicest guys. Met him a couple of times at NYCC, always super nice, donates any sig fees to great causes and gave me a kickass head sketch in my Jim Lee artists edition.
  6. Thanks, any specific pens you'd recommend? Last year Bill Sienkiewicz signed one of my books with some kind of white paint pen. It had a square body and came out quite nice. Anyone know what that might be?
  7. Hi all, wondering if people bring/ask a signer to use a certain marker vs just letting the signer use whatever they have available. Tend to prefer a metallic ink but have had sigs with a plain black sharpie because that's what they were signing with. TIA.
  8. I have a TMNT #3 double cover where Kevin Eastman signed both and both covers were graded.
  9. Any one know how to hear about Frank Miller signings otherwise? I've been trying to get my Dark Knight Gallery Edition signed for forever and he was in Artist's Alley last year signing but you needed to have some kind of number. Does anyone know how those were given out?
  10. Anyone know if there's any particular reason why there are no pages to Psi-War? That's one of my favorite issues.
  11. Have an extra Sat ticket if anyone is interested.
  12. +1 for Juliana's (the original Grimaldi's and usually less of a wait)
  13. Not sure how to parse that address but if you're near the Empire State Building, Jim Hanley's Universe is right around there, as is Korea Town which has all sorts of great Korean Food. I'd recommend Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong or BCD Tofu House. Pretty much anything you get there will be good. If the kids like chicken wings there's Bonchon Chicken which is around there too.
  14. Right, #1 and #2 occur on the same physical page, I was just loosely referring to them as 2 different versions. In your above post with the image of the Joker dying you mentioned there is another version of that page, which is the published all-Miller version. So would that page be an example of #3, where another version exists on a physically page?
  15. Interesting, so there are in essence 3 "versions" of this page? 1) Original Janson inks over Miller pencils for the whole page 2) The version above which has version 1 with full Miller panels pasted over 3) The published full Miller version? I remember Frank at the NYCC DKIII panel a couple of years back where he said he was driving Klaus crazy with all the panel cut and pasting he was doing on DKR.
  16. I had no idea about the different inked versions between Klaus and Frank until I got The Dark Knight Gallery Edition. Does anyone know how that worked? I always assumed that inks were done on top of the original pencilled pages. If so how you one go about re-inking something? Where the re-inked pages on top of pencilled photocopies? Since there are multiple copies of a page that's what must have happened right? BTW great podcast Felix, keep up the great work!
  17. Was big fan of Jeff Dee's art from D&D to V&V, always thought that he should get into comics. I also was into Willingham's art. I met him at a con a long, long time ago and brought up his TSR work. He didn't seem too enthusiastic about it, but I loved it nonetheless.
  18. Looks like CGC won't be there but authorized submitters will be. Never submitted through a 3rd party before, does it work exactly the same way? Is there a surcharge to go through them?
  19. Maybe I am referring to color bleed. I'm referring to when books are stacked together and the color of the front cover on the book behind rubs onto the back cover of the book in front of it. Many of my books have the back cover where there's a white border where the color rubbed onto. Is this called color bleed?
  20. Does anyone know how well a cleaning can remove color rub? Or is it basically YMMV? Thanks.
  21. It's hard to tell. Here are some pics:
  22. I recently received a book that was submitted for pressing also that came back with waves in the slab that absolutely did not have waves prior to submitting. Will try to post pics later. It was for a magazine sized comic.
  23. I see that Frank will be at Big Apple Con next weekend. I'd like to get my DKR Gallery Edition signed but I see that's he's charging $100 for autographs. The book itself it over $100! As I don't usually pay for autographs does anyone know how this works? Is it $100 per item?
