He had a stroke a few years ago. I believe he lost some control over his right side. It wouldn't surprise me if it had something to do with it.

Is there more the one all things comics? An all things comics just bought a book from me earlier in the week. They have no negative feedback. Their current listings seem consistent with an above comment (near perfect, almost perfect).
Don't people leave negative feedback anymore?

I have one CGC book at 6.0 with detached centerfold. It tucked inside quite good, showing slightly out.
Which rise the question: how much impact if the centerfold is restored back with staples folded? I'm sure it would come as "quiftied" but how much?
I finally found a site that had some Overstreet grading standards. It shows 3.5-4.5 may be detached at one staple. So I was in the ballpark.
Thanks to all for the responses.
That would seem to be for a cover rather than a centerfold, no?
This is the text I quoted from. I confirmed it in my copy.
VERY GOOD (VG) (ONE 3.5-4.5): The average used comic book. A comic in this grade shows some wear, can have a reading or center crease or a moderately rolled spine, but has not accumulated enough total defects to reduce eye appeal to the point that it is not a desirable copy. Some discoloration, fading and even minor soiling is allowed. As much as a ¼’ triangle can be missing out of the corner or edge. A missing square piece (1/8” by 1/8”) is also acceptable. Store stamps, name stamps, arrival dates, initials, etc. have no effect on this grade. Cover and interior pages can have some minor tears and folds and the centerfold may be detached at one staple. The cover may also be loose, but not completely detached.

If you reatteched and bent staples would it still be qualified or purple?
I have often wondered that. Is it that difficult to do that and have it go undetected by graders?
Surely, easier to do and sell raw for a bump.

I have an X-Men #50... the cover is detached at 1 staple... so is 3.5-4.5 the grade for it too?
If so I probably overpaid... when I found out that it a was detached at 1 staple I never sent it in to cgc to find out.
It sounds like Overstreet and CGC have different standards.

The book sold for $52. I think it is fair, but I could have probably gotten a bit more.

I am selling a Superman 199 (1st Supes/Flash race) on the bay. It has a detached center but otherwise solid. I am selling it for a friend who I have known for 40 years and has been collecting for over 30. He just isn't a grading guy. I have it up as a vg+. I didn't feel right putting anything over a vg on this, but I want to do the guy right. It isn't a huge book, maybe 50-60 dollars, but the sold prices fluctuate wildly. Any help would be appreciated.

But he is still rocking that black hair!

I'd LOVE to go through this art at a show. But I never know what show's he's attending
Are there shows he attends regularly?

He is also a regular at Terrificon in August at Mohegan Sun. That is where I see him.

I know it isn't always an option, but I much prefer going through the krap ton of pages he brings to a show. I have found (what I believe to be) real bargains. You see what you get, and no shipping.

Most of the KS I have backed are the full story. No more single issues for me. Hard to stay with the story a year at a time, and if they keep coming out. Got in on a Dave Wachter western GN and he did a great job. Hard cover, great color. I also got a nice Steven Butler Spidey piece from a KS. I would love to get in on a Balent piece, but I don't scan it as much and miss a lot.
I have only been burned once, on indiegogo. It was only for $50 so didn't hurt that bad.
Somebody start a Kickstarter thread! For new project notifications.
