  1. Bought a book from BIGS and it arrived lightning fast, well packaged and as described. Communication was excellent and certainly made my first board transaction a pleasant one. I would certainly do business again.

Hugo Strange's plans unravel! Fox has released the official synopsis for the Season 2 finale of Gotham, and it reveals that Jada Pinkett Smith will reprise her role as Fish Mooney.

While Gordon, Bruce and Lucius remain at Indian Hill, the city of Gotham will be met with a new threat as Hugo Strange’s inmates devise a plan to escape and start their new lives in Gotham.

“Wrath of the Villains: Transference” season finale episode of Gotham will air Monday, May 23.

Such a shame, she is actually unwatchable in that role.

  3. Hello All!!

Decided to go ahead and introduce myself on here after lurking for a bit. I'm Brad, currently an American contractor working in Canada for the Royal Canadian Air Force and Boeing.

It's a small town, with one fledgling little LCS to get my wares. Anyhow, it's been many moons since I collected comics, and even then it was a meager little collection. Most of it was the gawdy foil/holographic covers that were the "variants" of the early 90's. The shiny covers and the art work drew me to them whenever I went to the bookstore with my mom, in itty bitty Ayer Massachusetts.

The first comic books I ever bought was Cable #1 with the Gold Embossed cover, Venom Lethal Defender #1, The Secret Defenders #1. Not phenomenal comics but at 9 and 10 years old they were amazing. I dabbled a bit in X-Men due to the animated series, I was big on Cable, Venom, and Cyclops. I'm also a self professed Star Wars nut.

Welcome Brad! Nice to have you.

I don't know if it's the small town here in Petawawa, Ontario, or the boredom, but I've recently been looking back to those days and have begun to dabble a bit more into the series that interest me, and interested me as a kid.

So far I've been grabbing '68 back issues, Sex Criminals, Spawn, Star Wars, Deadpool and just grabbed The Discipline. I'm interested in catching up more on Invincible, Deadpool and Hellboy, through hardcover. I'll probably start picking up Invincible now that it's running again. I'm not trying to amass an enormous collection of raw books but think I'm trying to focus on key issue/first prints/slabs and hardcover compendiums/omnibuses from my interests.

Anywho, that's me in a nutshell! It's great to be here, and looking forward to sharing with all of you!!

Welcome Brad, it's nice to have you!

  4. Well, Roland was white and they have Idris Elba playing him.

I see your point though, Susannah's ethnicity, upbringing, and what she experienced because of these was integral to her character in a way that Roland's wasn't.

I very highly doubt they will outline Sussanah's life much in the series. Or if they use a white actress, perhaps her travels will be perceived to be less polarizing?

It's hard to say, but her whole multiple personality thing played a fairly big part in the plot, and they'd have to explain that somehow. I would hope they didn't spend too much time on it, I never liked that part of the story, and her "Detta" personality was annoying, IMO.

  5. Hello all,

I'm Ryan. I've been reading the boards for quite some time and decided to jump in. I started reading/ collecting around the age of 10 in 1990, mostly Marvel superhero titles then.

I moved to Ireland 3 years ago, and ironically, what got me back into collecting was selling my entire collection. It was residing in my parents home in Texas, and while I was not forced or asked directly to sell them, it was indirectly implied. I thought that I had lost the bug, so I took them down to an LCS on my last visit home and parted with them for significantly less than they were worth. I instantly regretted it.

Needless to say, the bug has bitten again, and I am now starting anew. My interests are quite varied, but include; Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge (especially Carl Barks), Silver/Bronze/Copper superhero, and modern Batman.

    Thanks for having me!

  6. Hi Rick,

What do you see happening to the market and prices for GA books as the population ages and, for lack of a better word, "exits" the hobby? Is there much interest in this era as a whole with younger collectors, or is the outcome going to vary greatly based on character/ title?

    Thanks,

    Ryan

  7. Hi guys, sorry for the off topic question, but I assumed I may get a better answer here than over in modern... Has anyone been reading the new duck books from IDW? If so, how are they? I've been thinking of giving them a try but would like your opinions if you don't mind. Thanks very much!
