  1. It took 9 days for my convention books to appear as received and that was at a much smaller show.
  2. Now that on-site grading is done for the year, all of the encapsulators will be in Sarasota working overtime.
  3. Comics sent Modern Slow Track rec'd 6/7 still "Scheduled for Grading". I was told they were graded sometime in July, but there is quite a back-up for encapsulation. Still looking at 3 1/2 months for Modern non-FT, 4 1/2 months for Value ST. Hopefully soon.
  4. Mike Zeck, Steve Rude and Mike Grell will be at Buffalo ComicCon Sept. 17-18. http://www.buffalocomicon.com/guests.php
  5. Would you add me to the PM list if this opportunity opens again? Thanks
  6. It does. I have sent out most of the 9.8 potential candidates out for SS. I would love to know if Frank Thorne is still signing comics. He is one of my favorite artists. He is 86 and lives somewhere in the NJ area and I know he has not signed for a while, but Frank you are amazing! Time marches on though.
  7. I have some nice Ms.Marvel #3's that look like are in demand. Still in grading though, so I am curious as to the final grade.
  8. I have about 4000 that I have to decide what to do with. They are all 1977-1983... almost everything is 9.4 or greater (most never opened). The question is ... Is there a market for non-key copies of ROM, Ms. Marvel, Nova, Spectacular SM, Red Sonja, Battlestar Galactica, Spider-Woman, Firestorm, Black Panther, Machine Man, Micronauts, Star Trek and What If? I have sent most of the #1s in for SS or grading, but some of the others are not listed as frequently on the CGC Census.
  9. I sent in my best 800 comics. FT would have been nice, but I have had all of these books for almost 40 years... probably not worth the extra 800.00 for a few extra weeks.
  10. Thanks for the update. Hopefully soon.... You still can't see the grade until it lists as shipped, correct?
  11. My Modern ST Received on 6/7 are still in scheduled for grading (since early July).
  12. I remember being drawn to this amazing cover and buying this comic off the turnstile rack even though I didn't buy many Hulks. Congrats on the 9.8 (one of the very few out there).
  13. I have over 700 (pre 1983) comics at CGC either in scheduled for grading or received/verified. Most were sent early June (Modern Slow) and at Nickel City Con. I have heard from the CGC verifiers that the numbers over the past 2 months have been "off the charts" (especially after SDCC). Hopefully my first batch will show as graded this week.
  14. I'm glad to see they gave your Hulk Annual #5 a 9.8 even with the rolled border. I have one that has the exact same appearance, but I was hesitant to send it in because of the spine. I guess with the thickness of the spine, there is no other scenario. Thanks for the image and the positive reinforcement!
  15. I guess I was lucky. It was not very crowded so the urgency for me to move along was not there. He didn't re-bag one of the comics and when I took it to replace the comic in the bag he asked if he wanted me to do it... I said I was good. Once again, they were both really great with all of my "stuff".
  16. I brought my Flash 217-219 to Buffalo's Nickel City Con yesterday for Adams to sign. Neal and his wife were both pleasant and engaging. I wound up also buying his new Civil Wars II and HQ 25s as long as I had the CGC witness there. All of the books were handled well and different color pens were used to make the signatures look great.
  17. 54 I collected all through the 70's and stopped in 1983 (Grad. school). I just started finding my passion again this year. Better late than never.
  18. Go to www.imgur.com Download your image. You will have to share it with the community to have easier access. Click the icon next to the BB image, this will copy and then post the link.
  19. He is... at 86, which is awesome!. Does anyone have facilitator access to him??? My Red Sonja collection would thank you.
  20. Does anyone know if Frank Thorne is still around?
  21. Right now, I love having both GoCollect and GPA. I seem to spend more time on both sites than a grown man probably should.
  22. Sorry, I don't know how to make the image a bit smaller. Also, a 9.2 and a 7.5 copy came back.
  23. I sent in a good number of books (non-fast track modern) that arrived on 6/7 and just moved to scheduled for grading today. The listed times sound just about as reported by CGC.
  24. I subscribe to both, but GPA has more sales listed. GoCollect has the images of the issues (which is nice). GPA has past sales, current listings, SS issue listings (including signers), but may only include CGC comics. If I had to pick one it would be GPA without a question.
