  1. Yeah, I made a storage shelf in a closet for regular boxes. Home depot has heavy duty shelving on sale these days. Might be worth a look.
  2. The hard plastic BCW ones? I have them stacked three boxes high and they are starting to get a little wobbly.
  3. I hate tape after a couple of incidents so I use the bags with the glue on it and love them! but I have no idea what youre talking about...makes what go up a little? the bag? the comic? Are you concerned the bag is not sealed right? I mean fold the top part until it sticks to the glue, dont over think it! The wrinkled bag maybe an issue, when stacked with other comics it might cause rippling on the front cover or some indentations.
  4. Other than stating it is a rip off... They are a business that doesnt need to offer any more discounts than they do, so As to the pricing, you can call as others have stated. You can also fill out the forms online and it updates the price as you go, the final invoice page will also give you a total. All without having to submit. If this is still confusing, you can try finding them at a convention and they will be happy to go over all the details with you. Welcome to the boards!
  5. If you are worried about a fake or swap you can look up the cert number buy the grader notes and then compare with whats in the slab for any obvious issues. I dont really get the point for asking what someone else would do though. DO whatever would make you happy. Clearly the case is damaged and you mentioned the possible options, easiest would be to send it back get a refund and move on IF THAT WOULD MAKE YOU HAPPY!
  6. Its on the Services and Fee page https://www.cgccomics.com/submit/services-fees/ccs/ There is also a thread about turn around times.
  7. Its a fake! BUT I'll take it off your hands for 50$
  8. Wish I still had that bridge to sell. It too was limited.
  9. Nothing to worry about. This is a blank sketch cover that has custom art on it and a Todd signature. You can see lots of sketch covers here: As long as the pickup/signature was witnessed by CGC its legit and will have the yellow label.
  10. Flat rate priority is $15, regular mail for unslabbed is like 5-7$. So is the potential loss in grade worth the $10? Also your friend has to still transport that book from NY to where ever adding to the potential for damage. Basically, keep it slabbed and let CGC take care of it at the convention. Less stress for everyone!
  11. Got these sweet Batman black and white statues! Now I have reason to get more to add to the collection!
  12. Thanks for the gifts Doc! Gifts are under the tree, while I wait impatiently...
  13. Sent mine out on Monday! Hope they got it safe and sound.
  14. Welcome to the boards! You should look into some tutorials about grading just to help you grade better and understand the process. Same for pressing and cleaning. Keep in mind that the book is graded as a whole. So the front cover looking NM doesnt mean much if something else is wrong with the book. +1 to posting in https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/forum/42-hey-buddy-can-you-spare-a-grade/
  15. Lots of info here about reholder and process. Good luck
  16. Nice list! Love that 457 variant thread. Is there a list of Batman issues with mark jewelers inserts? Noticed a couple of issues had them wondering how common or rare that was.
  17. If not for the witnesses why go to the CGC booth at all when you can just as easily ship them unsigned books to be graded? Or are you concerned with shipping/mailing them in?
  18. Think you mean "red skies". Red rain was the elseworld Dracula story right? That tec cover is really nice, never really noticed it before.
  19. He is slowly coming around. He did lower his cgc tax I believe. Hoping for better pricing too.
