  1. You may be able to look up his buying history if it’s recent enough by comparing to sold items and then contacting previous sellers to see if there’s a history of him pulling the same thing with them. I feel you with the insurance claims but if you sell enough books, it can add up quickly especially if you intend on getting them reslabbed
  2. Just when you thought the thread was gone forever; had a little time on my hands to get the creative juices flowing
  3. Not complaining though. I got it very cheap but it WILL be cracked out eventually for a CnP
  4. I watched a few different YouTube channels do unboxings a few months ago. Most had the same books; most likely overstocked drek. Easy pass. I have yet to see one that isn’t in cahoots with a YouTuber where a couple of hot keys “randomly” made it into the video
  5. I believe there’s a Facebook group about comics and artists that I get links from now and then
  6. I believe the missing piece defaults to a green label as the submissions I’ve seen with pieces missing from the interior (ie: value stamps, coupon cut outs, panels, etc. not /affecting story) because the flaw is not evident from the slabbed cover. This may be why the universal blue must be requested.
  7. If the book is otherwise complete it will get a green label. You can request to be graded as a blue label only and will receive the lower grade allowed with the flaw noted
  8. Definitely adds a premium since it’s highly unlikely one as complete exists. Your friend may do better with an auction house where the boys with the big bucks would get into a bidding war over it just for bragging rights. I can think of quite a few big spenders in Rick’s age group that might want it a lot more than he does
  9. But it being “1 of a kind”, what would be the ballpark? He usually brings in one of his experts but with no previous sales to set a bar, there’s no way he doesn’t low ball the owner, who hopefully get’s at least close to what he’s asking. 🤞🏼
  10. I love seeing threads like this. Something always pops up from my childhood that I haven’t thought of in ages that either I or my older brothers had and a rush of great memories is never far behind.
  11. A few odds and ends just “because” (have fallen in luv with some ga covers) and completed my Crow 1st appearance run. Speaking of covers, the Conan 96 is my favorite in the entire run
  12. Happens to me all the time for the last few weeks. Refresh works sometimes but I’ve come to accept it as “normal” now and just move on until I decide to visit at a later time 🤷🏻‍♂️
  13. Flawless transaction with Mister O. Book was packed properly and shipped quickly. Thanks for the cool book at an awesome price.
  14. Congrats and welcome to “Daddyhood”
  15. I think this might be all my bronze X-men stuff but I’m always adding or finding something stashed that I didn’t know I had. I’ve been replacing a ton of stuff for the past couple of years too
  16. 1 of 15 original copies on the census and the only restored label
  17. I get either as long as I’m comfortable with the price. Selling slabs is easier since the grade is noted and a buyer knows what they’re getting but a properly graded raw can get you just as much if the book is desirable enough. Buying is also more favorable in raws, especially if you’re confident in your grading skills as you can find your acceptable range cheaper
  18. Finding a buyer willing to spend that kind of scratch is gonna be very limited but possible depending on the other 23 on the census and those may not be pedigree copies making this one the outlier. I don’t see it happening anytime soon but I wouldn’t be surprised with how crazy things have gotten. The number 3 I referred to was from the Mephisto/Wandavision rumors where the price spiked but leveled off recently. It may actually heat up again with the next Spiderman movie taking some elements from the “One more day” storyline fueling rumors again
  19. I totally agree and this was my point. Books like Silver Surfer 3 that was a book selling in the hundreds jumped ridiculously with the wandavision rumors and a few notable keys like ff67 and Thor 165 have skyrocketed. Add to that the jump in the White Vision appearance with it’s overnight turnaround and sellers are holding back just in case they have a gold mine in the waiting. Aside from lesser known/obscure books, I do see plenty of key appearances just at higher prices than most want to pay
  20. Won this one in a cl auction a little over a week ago that needed a reholder with the mj notation. Was this one of yours?
