  1. The latests purchases, a but lucky to find them "locally" (within Sweden that is).
  2. I just came home from seeing it, and I'm having a hard time putting names to all that I feel. Almost a bit shaken. This is a movie that deserves to be recognised by the academy if any, toss oscars at it for f-s sake! The hype is underplaying it, this movie is even better!
  3. This post made me look up container and pallet freight costs across the atlantic. You call it drek, but for me it's still hard to get pieces for the collection. I'm apparently a collector living on the wrong continent. *keeps on dreaming about affordable drek*
  4. Copper age is 84-91 right? I would suggest we define the years of 1991 to 2002 as "The Crash Years", referring to the industry almost collapsing from collector speculations and overextending publishers.2002 is a turning point as it was the first time an old comic sold for over one million dollars. The collector market have rebound, but the after effects on monthly sales have left its mark. From then on it's the modern era, an age where comics are mostly seen as a package of IPs to be made into box office blockbusters. *grumbles*
  5. I donä't sell, I purge. As when I decided to switch from collecting superhero comics translated inte Swedish to the US original editions. Purged all the old stuff to get funds for the new. Or when I grew sick of my video game collection as I never had time to play - purge! One hobby less, more space and immediate funds for the other hobbies.
  6. Bernie Wrightson is an excellent suggestion, his work in Spiderman: Hooky was something out of this world.
  7. I like it if it has lots of pouches. Heresy! One pouch...maybe two on a rainy day (gotta keep change for the parking meter somewhere...or is that just me?).
  8. Art is such a subjective topic, to find one that is universally loved and appraised could be a tall order. Escpecially among us comic aficionados who can argue about who draws Nightwings jockstrap better.
  9. The equivalent of 80 US$ for this one, did I make a fair deal?
  10. Got my first slab by the mail yesterday. Or I should say slabs, the seller had another awesome piece that I just had to get, at what felt like a fair price.
  11. I finally dipped my toe outside the modern era and got my first slabbed comic.
  12. Bestå from Ikea, with Glassvik doors. The staple of many statue collectors.
  13. Not that great of a picture, but my LOTR and Marvel collection so far, Hulk and Thor got cropped out though, just like in Civil War.
  14. Hi there, figured I register to take part of this forum since I've read so many interesting posts here in my hunt for the right sleeves and boards (I ended up getting Mylites2 and gerber full-backs standard, might as well do things properly). I'm Johan, a collector of Marvel comics and Sideshow/Weta statues. My current poison is all-new all-different Marvel (have about 35 subscriptions ongoing), as well as trying to gather the remaining issues to my Hellblazer collection. Every month is a prioritization of what my fun-funds are to be aimed at. Have also been eyeing up some older first appearance issues to frame and hang behind my Marvel statues. Oh, and I'm from Sweden. And yes, of course we ride polar bears, throw Ikea-furniture at people and is generally polite in a chilly way.
