  1. Now seems like a good time to pick that book up if you're able. Prices on AF15 seem to be slowing, if falling a bit Anybody remember what the 9.0 went for in January of this year (2017)?
  2. I know! I just put in a $2.00 bid and I'm the high bidder!!
  3. Interested in Hakes 7.5. And didn't someone have a restored 8.5 coming up?
  4. Well GPA says last sale (at least recorded by GPA) of 7.0 was in Nov. 2016 for around 65k. 100k sale one year later is pretty ok. Maybe sale prices were escalating at such a jaw dropping level that is just what we were becoming accustomed to
  5. Is this the beginning of the inevitable crash? Don't know what 7.0s go for. GPA isn't the most helpful forAF15
  6. Yes. My heartbreaks many many times over selling my collection. As I recall xmen 4 was in bad shape, but... trying to not beat myself up over the mistake of dumping my collection. Just trying to move on. I'll get xmen 4 again
  7. Quicksilver. He's my man. Every. Single. Apperence. Ever. Then I sold them all for something like $21.35 in the early 00s.
  8. I've always just missed big stuff: could've seen bands like Nirvana and The Replacements with just a couple of people in the audience before they broke big. But I just missed it. For a variety of reasons. But not comics in the early to mid 80s. I was there as daredevil, watchmen and swamp thing, batsman year one, and dark knight came out month after month. It was awsome. But back from my reverie and to your question Have no idea what dkr #4 9.8 is worth. I paid about 525$ for #1 in 9.6 SS with Miller and Janson. (Bought from a boardie?) Forgot what I paid for blue label #1 9.8. Both first printings. Both bought about a year ago. And I have many, many copies of the 1-4 run raw. It's hard to see them and not want to buy them and give them a home.
  9. Sometimes the sexiest of all are books well read and enjoyed during their life in wild wish I had a showcase 4
  10. good detective work in connecting the dots
  11. My tiny brain hurts. Someone bought it and within a matter of weeks is attempting a flip? Risky move, no?
  12. Shoulda been the title back in The day: "New Universe And Just....!"
  13. The one in the current HA auction
  14. Ok, now we're talking! Consider this post the confirmation from my Content Development Team. Now when can you meet me on the other side of the fence at Gate 8?
  15. Well, there is a big untitled documentary shooting on the lot now that came about because someone was shouting over the fence. A friends working on it. About a guy who doesn't celebrate holidays or use the toilet. Cone on, Cal! I wanna see a film about why you collected all those IM/SM books.
  16. You'd be surprised how many big productions get made after strangers come to the lot and yell over the fence at gate 8! Gotta raise your voice somewhat because of traffic, but other then that it is how Hollywood works these days. Trust me. I'm an expert.
  17. My wife is a woman and encourages, often demanding, some of my comic purchases. (Some rather large). So she's a she and she's kinda "on the boards." So that should count for the finer sex population around here
  18. At the end of a John landus, joe Dante skit film from the late 80s, "see you next Wednesday" or something like that there is a parody promo for the 60s Universal Studios tour. "Come to the tour and ask for Madge!" Thats where I got it from. Sorry I'm not a woman. edit: the film was Amazon Women on the Moon
  19. Cal I had a PA by gate 8 here at WB so you and my producers could hear your Iron Man/ Submariner one shot doc pitch. Told you to be here between 1 and 2pm and you were a no-show. No good Cal.
  20. I'm in a melancholic reflective mood so I wonder why is what you state true. Money to made I guess. Wasn't Money to be made in the 60s and 70s? what do I know.
  21. Brings up an interesting question (at least I think it's interesting): at what point do you jump? In other words when do you buy? Maybe prices will go up even more; maybe they will fall. How does one make that call?
  22. Come to Warner Brothers tommorow. Burbank. We have a late call so I'm thinking 1-2pm. Gate 8 on Forest Lawn Drive. Black guy named Marvin works the gate. Ask for Madge. Stage 16. Cal don't start telling the producers what sells and what doesn't and how to do their job just yet. Give it a day or two. You still haven't given me the skinny on that one shot comic. Gotta tell my producers something to wet their whistle and get this project green-lit. Give me something Cal. Give me something. BTW, are you SAG? They're asking. I guess they can grandfather you in if your not.
