  1. Steve is being selfish. Offer him something good and he will trade it to you... I sure it would be harder than it sounds. I have aquired a couple of "un-tradeable" books from Steve. It is hard but if you keep on trying, he will give in I can't believe you outed me MK. But, Doc has already pried a few gem copper books from me so he knows I'm weak.
  2. Yeah, he's probably driving around in his new gold-plated limousine with a melancholy look on his face.
  3. This is the first time that I have seen all the books that you bought from Doc. You made some good choices Danny. All of your new books are very nice and the 35 is a book anyone would love to have in their collection.
  4. (worship) I hope my first silver X-Men will be a Pacific Coast.
  5. That is a nice looking book! Congrats, Aussie!
  6. Yow! That's sweet!! Thanks, Jeffro. I picked it up with a couple other DynaBrites that look just as nice. I plan on getting them graded too. This was the first copy of this issue to get a 9.8 but I don't know if that is just an anomaly. I was told that these books are particularly difficult to find in HG. I would appreciate any insights from the Duck experts out there...
  7. I loved reading the stories about the original art and meeting Carl. More please! Oh, yeah. And I wanted to post this. Just received from CGC.
  8. I wonder if that makes my copy with the pedigree listed even more valuable
  9. I think it is. It isn't listed on the CGC label of Doc's book above but it is listed on a couple of mine including this one (it isn't mine anymore - Hi Ghostie)
  10. Congrats CG! Nice books and a great top ten run (thumbs u
  11. Woo Hoo! Now that is a book baby! That X-Men/Spidey book has always been on my list as a possible first silver-age book to get.
  12. The Beast baby! Who doesn't love a fur-covered mutant scientist with clever banter for dialogue? (thumbs u Spidey is second - also clever banter and a scientific type - but with a supermodel wife
  13. I'm getting close to finishing my 94-143 run. I might even put together the top scoring run if I can find a 9.8 copy of 107. [Don't look back Dr. Watson ] That's right Doctor. By this time next week I'll be number two and then it's all about catching you
  14. I have bought a couple collections in the past year from guys who started a run and then couldn't finish because life interrupted or their interests changed. I like taking something that someone has started and carrying it on. And they appreciated the fact that I would keep their books together, add to them, and register them so they could periodically check in and see how I'm doing. Some are even keeping an eye out for the last few elusive issues I need to finish runs so that they can still participate in the joy of collecting without a lot of expense. MK and the Doctor have both put together runs that need to be finished. And if for some reason they can't finish them, or choose to pass them on before they finish, then I also hope that the runs stay together and get finished.
  15. I'm getting close to finishing my 94-143 run. I might even put together the top scoring run if I can find a 9.8 copy of 107. [Don't look back Dr. Watson ] When I'm done with that one, I'll focus more on my Amazing Spider-Man 100-200 run which should keep me occupied for quite a while. I've picked up some nice bronze Thors and Captain Americas recently which are fun and challenging because the census numbers are much lower than for the more mainstream titles. I'm also getting close to finishing my Wolverine 1-189 run and my pre-Unity Valiants and Valiant variants. Next up in the copper/modern age is finishing my copper X-Men and Amazing Spidey runs.
  16. Nice book Danny! I don't remember ever seeing it before.
  17. And me without an extra $20K to try to get that NM U$1... It will be fun to watch.
  18. I wanted the Uncle Scrooge 1 but someone wanted it more.
  19. I love these books. Thank you for posting them!
  20. I picked this up for quite a bit less than 204K.
