  1. Thank you for posting the second half of the Spidey/Hulk battle. And I agree with you about the "Spidey Unmasked" cover. The attention to detail in the reactions on the faces of his friends is very well done.
  2. Show us your beautiful bronze Spideys! Here are a couple to get things started. I loved the Spidey v. Hulk storyline in ASM 119 & 120 And the story in ASM 200 was a classic. One of my favorites of the entire run.
  3. your mom could have been worse My mom's passed away. That's worse.
  4. Steve, welcome to the Silver Age! If I could have drummed up the nerve to buy just one more book from Jim, that was the one! I love that issue. And PC!! Congratulations! Thanks, CG! I'm glad you didn't buy it. It is the perfect first silver book for me. I have always wanted a Pacific Coast book and it is a nice addition to my Beast collection
  5. Now I know what to put on my Christmas list...
  6. Nice books Casey. It looks like you had fun at the National.
  7. That's true I guess if by dime, you mean $1900 and by dozen you mean the only Pacific Coast copy, one of 5 copies overall, and with two copies higher. Oh ho. There is another PC copy. I did not know that. Is it the 9.6 or the 9.8? It is the 9.8 ensconced in Mr. Schmell's collection. Yep Great. I haven't even had my one book for a week and I'm already thinking about upgrading
  8. Nope missed out on that one, this was from Quality comics...so i be quite happy with that I'd be happy too. He hooked you up with a sweet one Thanks mate (thumbs u Next i'll think about submitting my Amazing Adventures to see how well they stack up against your brilliant, blinding bodacious Beast books!! (i think just killed the alliteration with that one) I just posted my newest Beast book in this thread. I can't wait to see your AA books. I'm hoping to get one of the two 9.8 copies of AA 12 that just popped up.
  9. That's true I guess if by dime, you mean $1900 and by dozen you mean the only Pacific Coast copy, one of 5 copies overall, and with two copies higher. Oh ho. There is another PC copy. I did not know that. Is it the 9.6 or the 9.8?
  10. Thanks, Danny. You know it has always been a mini-grail of mine to get this copy because of the pedigree and because it is the origin of the Beast. The only other silver book that I have really coveted was the Spidey appearance in 35. Some kid in New York has the only 9.8 copy of that one.
  11. Congrats, Matmarvel! That's a nice book. I'm glad I'm not the only new member. And Thanks for the welcome Casey but you don't have to worry about competition from me. This will probably be my only silver X-book for some time.
  12. That's true I guess if by dime, you mean $1900 and by dozen you mean the only Pacific Coast copy, one of 5 copies overall, and with two copies higher.
  13. Nice book, Steve! I wish all 9.4s looked that nice. Thanks, Barton. It is a real nice 9.4 so I am very pleased. And I probably should have given kudos to the guy who was crazy enough...I mean kind enough to sell it to me. Thank you Dr. Watson
  14. Hey! Is there room for another silver X-Men collector in the club? I just got my first silver X-book - the Pacific Coast copy of the Origin of the Beast.
  15. Nope missed out on that one, this was from Quality comics...so i be quite happy with that I'd be happy too. He hooked you up with a sweet one
  16. Congratulations Aussie! You got a sweet book and you got a good deal if I remember right. That is the copy that Mr. Highgrade hooked you up with a while back, right?
  17. Barks' Duck books are so timeless. I posted a picture of my two-month old son Robbie last Christmas. I gave him a copy of Four Color 367 "A Christmas for Shacktown." Today was his first birthday and I gave him a copy of "Trick or Treat." Here is a picture.
  18. So are we adding him the list? I would at least email him, he doesn't "hang" on the boards a whole lot. but since no PM to get the email, who knows. I was able to see that he has read the several PMs that I have sent him over the past month. So, notice isn't apparently an issue like I thought it might be.
  19. (thumbs u A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Or in this case, continues with another step. At your age, with your drive and a bit of patience, I have no doubt that you will put together one of the top silver runs over the next 5 years or so. Congrats, Danny!
  20. Is anyone in contact with newkingintown? I haven't heard from him since he PM'd me an for a CGC 9.8 Magnus 1 a month ago. I see he hasn't posted since September 19 either.
  21. It's been a while since I had something to share but I just got these two in this morning. My first two Barks file copy books
