  1. geesh what a friggin hassle. Can't I just spend the grand on comics I like instead of this insane investing ? no thanks.
  2. The creepiest looking dude of them all. Gives me nightmares
  3. I don't see how it is creepy now. But I guess nowadays any acknowledgment of children or even looking at them or being nice is considered creepy. Sad.
  4. I hate having comics that are sealed up that I cant handle and look at, but for some reason I have some weird sentimental attachment to this one. I found it at some little used bookstore in the late 80s.
  5. Love that Ha Ha comics. That cover is by Dan Gordon, one of my favorites My only Japanese cover....
  6. My only centaur comic, which I just recently found out is Amazing Mystery Funnies vol2 #1. Its missing at least one outer wrap along with the cover. I love the cover, I wish i had it. I can't even find a good picture of the cover anywhere, there's a couple tiny bad quality pictures online. Must be a pretty hard to find issue.
  7. a swastika on a 1931 film fun...
  8. Swastikas were really common in this country too as good luck symbols around the turn of the century and until the nazis came around. I was watching an early 30s James Cagney movie recently and in it he is a crook pulling scams and one of them is something to do with good luck swastika charms. I also have a 30s pulp somewhere with a swastika in the publishers logo on the cover. it was pretty common
  9. Just ran across this, which is obviously a Crime Does Not Pay swipe
  10. Agreed, such an amazing cover, but I am glad lots of things I like don't get respect and no one cares about them much. It means I can afford them then.
  11. A Big Little Book not a comic, but one of my favorites.
  12. Reed Crandall must have had Howard Pyle's pirate book
  13. I love gold keys. Since I had the box with all these out already I'll just show em all. I cant find my boxes of magnus and boris karloffs and stuff like that.
  14. I never paid any attention to the word 'trepanning' before...must plead ignorance on that one. But, now that you mention it, and now that I've looked up 'trepanning' on Wikipedia, damn if it doesn't look like it to me! Here's the Wiki picture of 'trepanning'...good call! Thanks for teaching me something! Here's a good documentary on it https://vimeo.com/120924327
  15. I don't own this and don't know where I got this picture from, might be from this board, so if it's yours and has already been talked about, I am sorry. But I love this cover and can't find anything about it anywhere. I wonder if Cole did the interior illustrations too? That would be awesome.
  16. Not comic covers, but medical. Sort of.
  17. I guess that's a handkerchief she's waving at him. I won't say what I thought it was when I first saw it
  18. Love this cover, the guy's face cracks me up. Also, how did that gun fit in that little cake?
