  1. I can't believe that I got suckered into watching that review In short I believed cgc video was more genuine than the youtubers "hot take" To get subscribers. And yet a more younger vibe for cgc to try and reestablish branding?
  2. I actually got something different than others this time too, so it is either you who got something different or I'm thinking to hard about this
  3. I'm not aware of all the dynamics, cert lookup goes down on the site from time to time... If you want to try it now, just maybe it will work? Hope that helps, if I'm right let me know
  4. Edit to say he posted it in moderns hearing up thread in modern, which I suppose is progress. My bad for thinking it was another thread in the modern section. Edit again? To say that neat collectables had to respond there too, which amazes me that they found the post!
  5. There is one in modern too since that's where we're headed
  6. Sold the Crow for what I thought was fair and chipped in a little more toward this!
  7. awesome!! uv glass is steep! edit to say probably even more$$ today
  8. ... I remember you posting that before , but I am more awake this time to ask, is it a poster size that CGC would grade? into that? I'm curious about that field and or market, but idk why, it isn't something I necessarily own nor would likely "run into" in the wild so idk I guess I think it is neat
  9. I think I had it pegged at 8.5 tbh, when I saw 8.0 I thought not bad, then looked at the answer I submitted and
  10. just under the top staple and edges would be 8.5, that bottom left corner also spine tick, but was unclear to me how bad? right edge, surprised it didn't get 7.5 I can't believe I gave that book 9.6, I must have just summed up my answer from memory wrong when I went to the pm to submit
  11. Ya it is hard to hold onto, I don't blame my folks for it either, and they really didn't get rid of much actually, I just didn't have to many "special" things anyway. haha. Not all of it was gone, and I still have the binders of late 80's and early 90's baseball cards as a memento of just how many odds and ends I was accumulating at the time
  12. should be super fun to hear how it went for you guys or should I say y'all
  13. Speaking of which, yesterday was evidently "Independent Bookstore Day?" My used bookstore nearby said as much, and they hosted a "Golden Ticket" hunt within their store. 6 total envelopes to find, only one per person, afaik. With the "golden" one being a prize of like 45 audio books. It sounded intriguing, and I'm saving for Comic-Con, so it gave me something to do I searched the whole store so I had thought at least for an hour, and one guy found one, which was $5 credit. No one seemed to be looking other than me and maybe kids with parents shopping. Not a lot of distraction, but I didn't want to make people move from shopping, so I had to retrace. Found one persons phone that they had just left on a shelf, went and turned that in to lost and found. Anyway,........ I did after that find an envelope of $10 credit yadda yadda
  14. I did see a National Enquirer yesterday at the used bookstore, I assume an old one, it just made me wonder how they "acquired" it!
  15. There are some on ebay, I think the white I was remembering is around the edges of the characters. I happened to be riding a bike with a friend by a video store, but a hole in the wall establishment and this was outside. I asked to either have it or paid $2 in 1994 or 95. They agreed, and my friend said take it but thought a minute because we were on bikes and we tried successfully. I remember setting it up, but when we moved later in the next year or so, I might have not wanted to bring it to truly start anew.
  16. Lol had to look that up, as my parents probably threw it away 😔 I remembered it as a white backdrop but perhaps I'm remembering the back idk. Was just curious if you have no room for the set up, if it took years to create interest. Sort of venting to think it through, but I suppose Marvel is established enough. Just didn't know if there was a year that started vintage, collectable, or etc No worries.
  17. Since you hint at the point of what I need to ask? 🤔 At what point would advertising become sought after, is it as high as 25 years or similar circumstances to even pinpoint? Would do wonders sometimes, as I know there are pivotal ones and etc . I think it was this thread or another with the coca cola Marvel.... Closest I had was a pulp fiction standee, a big one that I got as a kid from a video store. Not sure if blockbuster but I don't think so, anyway it was people size and had all the main characters. I haven't thought about that in ages 😂
  18. Condolences. Hope the effort isn't too bad to do something about them, we've often wondered or left instruction for easy consignment. Not an easy thing to deal with, and all at one time either, especially given certain circumstances. Kudos for doing something, and again condolences.
  19. Your kidding? Was there More than one print of the spiral? Or maybe what I had found spiraled was it, but I thought it was different than the pics above and deemed it not what was collected? Or maybe maybe the regular print picked up first? I forget the reason I didn't pick it up. Lord forgive me
