  1. My entry...first time I have ever owned this book. I have it at a solid 5.0. Love this key.
  2. Regarding the parking...yeah, it sucks. However, when Bartle Hall was built (70s), downtown KC was A LOT different. With the revitalization of the last 15 years, things are much more complicated than they used to be.
  3. Dark hair, black shirt on Friday, but I can't remember his name. Probably about 45 - 50 yrs old. He and I talked about a trade for ASM #50, but he wanted too much.
  4. Sorry I missed you, Mysterio. You were still at work, I guess, while I was there on Friday. I never made it back, unfortunately. I was there before the doors opened on Friday, and the line was ridiculous. However, most of those folks must have been into other things, because the comic centered booths were approachable throughout the afternoon. I talked to couple dealers, and they were very happy with the first couple hours. One guy (can't remember name) said he could wrap up for the weekend already after a couple really nice sales. Too bad that kind of action wasn't widespread. I never have been much on the celeb meets or signatures myself, so I only go to run through long boxes. I can say that every dealer I bought from was willing to move on their prices. I know it helped that I was paying cash, and I probably wasn't grabbing the cream of the crop. I just wish I had more time. 4 hours wasn't even enough time to get very far.
  5. Thanks to a big (for me anyway) trade at Planet Comicon. A big upgrade from my raw 1.0 copy.
  6. Needless to say, my wallet is less of a burden to carry around. Not bad for four hours of work.
  7. Quick report: Made it to the show yesterday, but not today. Bought a stack of books from Leroy, bought a few books from Mysterio's brother, and hit several other booths that had silver age stuff. Lots of Spideys available, and put a huge dent in my list. Not as many pre-hero books in my price range, but I got two or three. Also filled out a lot of my want lists for Strange Tales, TOS and TTA. I only had a few hours so I didn't get to see much if there weren't silver age boxes involved. It felt like a huge crowd to me for Friday afternoon. Finally, I upgraded my BEAT but complete Hulk 4:
  8. I have never been a big signature guy, but Kevin Eastman and Jim Steranko being in KC have me thinking. I have a TMNT #1 (3rd) in 7.5-8.0 that I have been contemplating. And I have a Strange Tales #151 (1st Steranko work at (Marvel) in about 5.0. Thoughts on whether these are signature worthy books? Again, it would be to increase the market appeal of the books because it's not a huge plus for me. Any opinions appreciated.
  9. The map is posted. I don't see Monster's Lair. What name are you guys under? http://planetcomicon.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/PlanetComicon2017FinalWeb.pdf
  10. This should not last..... GLWTS, though I don't think you'll need it.
  11. I will only be there on Friday afternoon with family commitments all weekend long. But, I plan on ditching work around noon, and staying all afternoon. I know Dale Roberts will have a booth too. Any other boardies confirmed?
  12. I'll make sure I stop by...pre-hero Marvels always draw me in
  13. This just further accentuates the points on defects. Some people are bothered by certain defects way more than others.
  14. Decent point here. At least I am not making it any worse by reading it. Agreed on detached staples.
  15. Tape runs the whole spine. I know that makes it worse, but whoever did it, did a decent job...for tape
  16. That's interesting to me. So, OSPG (I know they are not the final authority, but they have detailed descriptions written down) says major chunks can be missing from the cover or multiple pages/pieces gone that impact the story. I know all tastes are different, but a complete spine split is way less offensive to me than major chunks missing or story impacting pieces/pages gone. Thanks for the input. I love the different points of view.
  17. Seems fair at first to me too. I guess what I really struggle with is the 0.5 for books that have missing pieces/pages/back cover. I would 100x rather have a book with a complete spine split that someone Frankensteined together with scotch tape than a book with a missing page.
