  1. He noted “pencils” on a lot of the Charltons, where Vinny Colletta inked everything Joe did as art director of that shoestring operation.
  2. Ok, first one is not a comp copy, but obtained as a back issue by Joe and/or his son to fill out their archive of his work. It was also offered in the thread to help with Jimbo’s stroke recovery costs and went untaken, so it will be offered for Jimbo here. Kid Colt #90 GVG at best. But two Sinnott sigs. $50 to JimJum12’s PayPal, and you get this added to your stack, and your stack ships for free.
  3. Ok, last seven. Might be a little slower between each, more diversity and less preparedness.
  4. Back from ice cream I didn’t need! Gimme maybe 15 minutes for a few pix not yet shot.
  5. Ok gang, I did get back from work late tonight, and the kids want ice cream. I just finished dinner. Figure those final seven probably about 10ish Eastern tonight, just a little later than the other nights. I do have to shoot a couple pix, too.
  6. All good, Alan. We lose so much in online communication without vocal intonation and facial/body expression. I’ve had fine exchanges/board deals with Rob and I just take it as a straight question. It’s all good, everyone.
  7. the books in the above recap go to Blackmask! Thank you Alan and welcome to the thread!
  8. I don’t know why you’d think it’s snide or cynical. I sat on the pm, thought on it, got it a second opinion etc for the same reason. After thinking it over and talking it over, I came to the conclusion that the thread was winding down and any potential homes had found their choices. I had the thread up for days, multiple boardies have made small stacks with instant grabs, and I had done pm deals on a couple of the straggler books already. In advance, I tagged lots of people in an announcement and stated no advance sales via PM to keep it fair. I could probably have sold every book via PM just from the announcement. I didn’t limit how many folks could take in the thread, and Blackmask’s take is about as many as I’ve kept for myself. And there’s seven more coming tonight, which will conclude the thread. So I feel like I have made a strong effort to make them widely available on here at fair prices with everyone getting a shot. That was my thinking.
  9. Marines in Battle #19 VF or better $400
  10. Thank you again everyone, I hope you have enjoyed this! I’ll do one more small round of Joe’s books tomorrow night, with a little more diversity and a little more grade range as not all were received as comps. Apologies again on the Marines in Battle #18, especially to Mark @mstrange If anyone would like to take that book at its new, revised price of $100, please pay that one via PayPal to Jimbo to help JimJum12’s stroke recovery fund and I’ll toss it on your stack and eat your shipping for your pile.
  11. Ok gang, that is a wrap on the Joe Sinnott personal comp copies that were planned for this thread. Tomorrow night will be the last night of additions, with probably fewer than 10 total books. All will be Joe Sinnott signed personal copies, but not all will be comps — we have two westerns and two pch that the family believes were acquired as back issues as the grades are on the lower end of the range seen here at best. I’ll also look at my stack of keepers from the comp books and make a couple cuts from those on the bubble. There’s a couple pre-code Battle issues I may let go.
  12. SOLD! Marines in Battle #20 in FN/FN+ range. No comps out there. A lone 4.0 on census. $250
  13. Updated; thanks again Andy and apologies to all, especially Mark. Mark, feel free to hide the outdated take.
  14. Thank you Andy! I completely forgot that from when I shot, which is when it happened. Mark has passed; I will revise grade down to VG range and price down to $100.
  15. Marines in Battle #19 in VF or better. Six on census, 8.5 is tops. No comps out there. Pretty book, deep colors. $400
  16. Marines in Battle #18. They had it at FN+. I think it’s a very attractive apparent FN but that said, cover detached during photo session so it’s a technical VG at best though it looks better. It’s a census ghost around here. HA sold a Voldy 5.5 in 2021 for $252. $100 to JimJum12’s stroke recovery fund via PayPal and receive this book tossed on your stack and free shipping for your entire pile.
  17. SOLD! Marines in Battle #17 in VFNM. No comps, two on census. 8.5 at the top. $400
  18. SOLD! Marines in Battle #9 in VF range, leaning the better side. Though tanning a little more apparent with that white cover. A 5.5 in 2021 sold for $89 on HA. Two on census, 6.5 is tops. $300
