  1. SOLD via PM! Edge of Spiderverse #2 cgc 9.6 white pages. 1st print. 1st appearance of Spider-Gwen. I submitted this one in April 2021 and requested a press specifically because the book has some waviness to it. Still has some. $800
  2. 5 Simple Rules (Please, please read) 1st wins; tie/indeterminate goes to the thread. Payment is Check or Money Order (yeah, yeah I know I'm a dinosaur, troglodyte, luddite, mennonite, hermaphrodite etc. - I just don't have or want e-payments.) Shipping: Via USPS; $8 USPS Priority shipping for raws, until the stack requires a medium box, then it’s $15. (Combo of slabs and raws will be at most affordable Priority shipping that allows me to pack safely.) Don't be listy including the little one in my head. Returns: No returns on graded books. (Kudos thread linked under my avatar.)
  3. Yes and no — for shows Ryan like the one describes, I’m 100% with you, Mike. But smaller shows that are comics-heavy I’m all for.
  4. I lean towards yes on 126. Half the 1968 expansion titles are numbering changes too, after all.
  5. Love the concept of this thread and hope it grows legs around here! For those who haven’t read it, JLA Earth-2 is a fun read, and an awesome display of J’onn J’onnz.
  6. Thanks Greg! No luck on a #74; I don’t even have one to hem and haw about whether to offer.
  7. You’re welcome; of course one could say I’m wrong; just my sense of it. There is an upper limit to how much he is going to sell any one book for so I don’t see what you have to pay such a premium ($3000 over full price ask) when he is potentially achieving as much $$ or more, more easily. I just realized that part about heavy inventory because I looked up the copy after recalling KPR’s post above about the eBay listing. He still may prefer a handful of more easily sold books to the 800-lb gorilla. After all, he’s got a lot of gorillas in his zoo.
  8. I wouldn’t necessarily think that way unless you are dealing with someone with a proven track record selling books in that weight class. I get the notion of quantity for quality but this is quality for quality with a cash component and, I Suspect, easier liquidity for him. (Unless you know that I’m off on that point). I still see no justification for overpaying given all the separate elements involved in the deal.
  9. Is he putting your values above (11k ASM 1, 7k 14, 800 Flash 110) on the books? Does that mean he has the GSX 1 at $1,200 in the deal if you’re $5k short? I think he’s a smidge high at 25, and I would think he’s doing the deal at least in part because he can sell the group of lower priced books somewhat more easily. Not every dealer has cultivated a customer base for $25k books.
  10. SOLD via PM! Captain America Comics #66 complete, probably in the GVG to VG- range, but, I think, has some amateur color touch. (Again, I bought it in that all or nothing deal; seller was not OO, my knowledge of provenance stops there). Anyway, what we do know…look at the missing upper right corner, then look at the inside front cover. Looks like the piece was once taped back and is now missing. Looks like some red bleed from front, and if you look at the front the red appears to have two shades. Piece missing from lower corner of back cover is included and was not taped. That said, Bucky gets shot, 1st Golden Girl; an affordable Timely key. Again, data is sparse. HA sold a cgc 4.5 blue label in July 2020 for $1,200 and an incomplete raw in Feb 2021 for $504. $1000 shipped within U.S. here.
  11. No luck on a 74, and no war covers to spare. Just intermittently adding a couple incompletes so I hopefully don’t have too many Golden Age books that I’m trying to complete via marriages, and maybe will add a couple later-run issues, but with Timely Caps I hem and haw over letting go of any issue, complete, incomplete, war or non-war, nice or beater…
  12. SOLD! Captain America Comics #65 missing three center wraps. A complete beater recently went on eBay for $539 plus shipping; let’s do $300 shipped within U.S. here.
  13. I should add that I am completely open to offers here as it is a tough book to price and not for everyone given its oddities. Then again, it’s also a Cap 76, and there’s not enough of them for everyone either. So it’s a complete, entry-level copy for someone who wants one. (I got it in part of a much larger all or nothing deal for a bunch of Timelys, from a collector who parted with them to fund an OA purchase.)
  14. Here’s the book: Captain America Comics #76, (May 1954) first of the three-issue 1950’s Atlas Comics revival; complete, centerfold neatly detached, covers wrapped in translucent/opaque paper with lots of tape. This copy is not for everyone. Comps tough; eBay no help. Three from HA — a 6.5 restored went $1,320 in April 2022; a 2.5 blue went $1440 in March 2020, and a cbcs 1.5 went $552 in January 2020. $600 shipped within U.S.
  15. Before I post it, it’s a weird one — someone used tape to wrap both covers in some sort of translucent paper (parchment paper? Wax paper?). Here’s a link to a full discussion on it in the Can You Spare a Grade forum, with lots of boardies weighing in. The short story: it’s a low-grade but complete copy with a neatly detached centerfold. It’s supple and readable. It’s got odd paper taped on that probably would cause damage to remove. Not sure if one would consider it amateur resto/conservation. Here’s the link:
