  1. I just try to maintain a fun, conversational atmosphere in the sales threads. I think it provides more of a real-time hangout feel that a lot of us seem to enjoy when someone is selling -- talking smack about takes, discussing the books (which of course is a core part of these entire boards), having a few laughs, etc. When buying, I know there's some sellers who don't like it, so I don't add extraneous conversation, however innocuous, in their threads. I've never had a boardie browsing one of my threads for books complain that the conversation makes it less fun/too hard to follow; maybe some avoid them because they don't like it, but it seems a lot of folks here enjoy that type of thread, including me, so I welcome it. I see more of a 50/50 split between those who like a thread that is either dedicated to one theme (eg - all Marvel silver), or where all the books of each theme hit the thread sequentially (eg - all the Marvel silver, then all the PCH, etc) versus those who like the randomness of a "who knows what genre/era is next?"-type thread. I try to go between both styles, as there's fans of both. But either way I like a conversational atmosphere. It's about the books we share love for, after all.
  2. Iron Fist #14 copy B (page 3) is still available. I have discovered two small interior tears I had missed, so I added pictures, lowered the price, and my grade assessment. Please see details on page 3 if you’re looking for one.
  3. OK, crazy busy day today but I can at least finally clean this place up a bit before going to sleep. I'll try to add re-runs and a couple new items later this week, I think.
  4. That's it gang; hope it was fun! I'll leave this up for a bit, and I may add a few re-runs at some point before closure. Thanks all lookers, lurkers, takers and krappers!
  5. Going Steady #14 in GVG. All Baker, all the time. Tough last issue of the run. Worst of it is that cover tear from bottom of top staple horizontally under the G in the logo. Otherwise solid with general wear and interior cover tanning. (WAS $400) NOW $375
  6. SOLD! Daredevil #1 in Fair/Good 1.5. Cover detached at bottom staple, split just above that, but it’s all here, except for that little cover corner. Book is absolutely on fire; a raw GVG with tear seals disclosed just sold on eBay for $1799. Let’s say $1,750.
  7. This next one's insanely on fire so I have had a hard time pricing, but it's in line with recent sales and current, ongoing auctions of comparable copies.
  8. SOLD! PLEASE NOTE: I’ve edited this post because I discovered two small (margins) interior page tears that I missed. See below for edited description, my grade, price drop and additional pix. Apologies for any confusion. Iron Fist #14 copy B in FVF. Capping my grade at 7.0 for 2 bigger flaws, as opposed to overall wear: slight foxing lower right front cover corner, and the 2 interior margin tears. Structurally better overall with nice spine, but those bring it down. I still think it is nicer than the slabbed 6.5 I also have in this thread, hence my opinion of FVF aka 7.0, but again a little foxing and a couple small tears are limiting. Book is on fire; a slabbed 7.5 just sold for $575 (was a $699 OBO listing), and I think it looks better than more expensive raw asks in comparable grade range on eBay currently. NEW PRICE $450
  9. I'm tired and I want to go to bed, but you guys are sticking it out, soooo...last three...one bronze, one silver, one gold; all keys....
  10. Punch and Judy Comics vol 3 #2 (1947) in VG. Cheesecake on the outside with a tasty Simon and Kirby humor story on the inside, Earl the Rich Rabbit. (WAS $50) NOW $35
  11. SOLD! Underworld #8 (1949 DS Publishing) GVG cover detached at top staple. Tough pre-code crime book; 2 on eBay. This is nicer and cheaper than the comparable-condition one. (WAS $40) NOW $35
  12. SOLD! Adventures into Weird Worlds #30 in GD. Cover is attached; split to lower staple. General wear. Interior sig by Joe Sinnott. (I did not get the sig myself, but I got the book from the LCS owner who runs Albany Comic Con. Knowing him, and knowing Joe and his sig, I am confident it is real.) (WAS $60) NOW $50
  13. SOLD! Iron Fist #14 copy A (raw coming later in thread) cgc 6.5 first appearance of Sabertooth. Y’know how we say “book presents nicely for the grade?” Well, this one presents poorly for the grade, but it looks like pressable flaws thru the slab. (I was not the submitter.) Look closely at top front and back covers to see what I mean. Book has been on fire of late. $400
