  1. I think its a relatively tough book to find, at least in pre-internet days if you weren't a show-goer. My first copy is on the left; had it so long I'd have to go to my notes for when/how acquired. The other two came within a couple weeks of each other, and just a couple years ago. An LCS I frequent landed both in separate collections. Better than what usually shows up locally so grabbed both. I always loved Premiani's art, and that black cover is striking.
  2. Every time I see the Planet #58 cover, I see Captain Atom in his second costume. I'd bet Ditko read Planet.
  3. Oh c'mon, I was just funnin' ... But really, in NM98, the character is pretty much a two-dimensional throwaway. Did Liefeld flesh him out, or is that someone else? I honestly don't know; I just had a 98 for a short while (from a collection I bought) and I used the book in a trade. But I did think, "hm, may as well read Deadpool's first appearance" before I moved it, so I read it.
  4. Does this dude have Tourette's? I'm just trying to make sense of those eBay postings. I would, however, like to read a copy of that comic one day.
  5. Love, love this book (and title/team)...you guys are gonna make me fire up the laptop and go get mine to post.
  6. Since it's complete, and as long as the cover is not completely split, 1.0 seems the likely grade to me too.
  7. Should have added -- whoever it is, some version of Midnight has to be in there as the Big Bad's champion assassin, no?
  8. What about a renamed Yellow Claw? (Eg - Golden Claw?) Have we had a Jimmy Woo intro anywhere yet? I'm not a TV guy, so he could already be on SHIELD and I wouldn't know. But I sure would love an Agents of Atlas film adaptation someday, so maybe I'm just wishful for Golden Claw, in order to pave that way.
  9. I agree @sagii was conservative on grade; nice price but he would have done better if I hadn't zonked out and missed the listing last night! Corey, if the buyer flakes and doesn't pay (I doubt it on a $350 GA western; it's probably another boardie) but sometimes it happens on eBay, please PM me. You're close enough for an in-person transaction.
  10. Hiya Liz, great funnybooks! I just stopped in to threadkrap and join you in bewilderment over the lack of love for MSH 14. I guess most people don't know it's a new story, not a reprint? It's also the first Ross Andru on Spidey, and the blue android he's fighting is clearly a Vision predecessor (by four months); very similar powers. Cool story too.
  11. Hooboy....looks like I'm munching popcorn with the entire Funnybook Mafia....
  12. How is that knowable, Roy? What test can be applied to the 5 million books that have been graded? I don't mean to be difficult; I agree it's far from a total crapshoot is also my anecdotal sense. But in fairness, I'm just not sure how to prove either argument. Both sides are easy to assert but difficult to either confirm or refute.
  13. With another cut!!' Avengers #4 is now $375 shipped within U.S. Wilbur #5 is now $125 shipped within U.S. Pep #71 was a steal at the original price, let along the $50 that I have already marked it down to. Joe Palooka #23 is free with the purchase of any of the other three.
