  1. Roy, in describing yourself at 5, you've described me at that age as well. It's not bags, board and big bucks, but to my mind if we were pursuing back issues and amassing, we were collecting. I do wish we were all having this discussion live over beers as clarifying definitions for so many terms/ideas is a part of this. For those looking at bags, boards and bucks behavior as the standard definition, I guess that definition puts me around eighth grade.
  2. We might never; there is the possibility the vast majority prefer raw. Since two decades in, the vast majority likely remain raw, we need to at least consider that.
  3. I see it; that's a Harry Osborn-lookin' guy right there.
  4. THIS explains why he needed the Underoos! Oh, granny!
  5. No bloom lost for me; I think it's a "cooler than its weight class" GA key as the first appearance of the other two characters among the five heroes who were continuously published from the GA through to the SA. Aquaman was on underoos back in the 70's when most kids did not know who Green Lantern or the Flash were! This is NOT of course an argument for a six-figure collectible investment; I just think it's a cool book, better than the derision it sometimes receives.
  6. I can't remember if I posted this, and I'm too lazy to look back! So enjoy! (And if it's a rerun, I've got one on the way from Melbourne right now that should make up for it! )
  7. Thank YOU! Great minds think alike, Eli! (And so do comic book collecting fiends, apparently! )
  8. Girl in red bikini to girl in red scanty middle eastern dance garb
  9. I'll throw this one in the mix too, as its one of the tougher ones to find. I've stated this before elsewhere on the boards, but I think of this as a poor man's Cap 46/sleeper book. While it lacks the overtness of shoving someone into the oven, the looks of those in front of the firing squad and the general setting (train tracks, transport vehicle, etc) suggest concentration camp to me. Yet another side of Biro to do one of this sort.
  10. @Robot Man What a roll! I'll also second that recommendation someone made earlier for 10-cent Plague; great book! And thanks @comicjack for reminding me of the other side of Biro. I have always loved this cover.
  11. Good Ol' Charlie Biro.....you can always count on him for child abduction, suicide, attempted murder in an insane asylum, and general violence .... A One-Man Wertham Wet Dream
  12. Thx! I bought five short boxes because that was in there. Looking forward to reading it.
