  1. Can I come in? (That 94 on the left was bought off the racks...)
  2. Ok, here's the splash from Police 109. Bondage and whiplashing:
  3. Really cool funny book! I've never seen it before, thanks for sharing. Thanks! I don't have too many Street and Smith books, but there's a cluster of gems out there it seems.
  4. I agree. I am convinced it is the split image cover that keeps this book and AT #1 at shockingly low prices. We are in the age of the cover image, and the split covers are big time fail. I was NEVER a fan of the split cover; the only thing worse was the onset of the barcode . . . One of my favorite cover tricks though, was when the cover figure grabbed or broke the logo - what was it X-Men 56 that first did that? (the Adams cover) Later, it led to be a staple of the BA. Isn't there a Batman or Tec cover with Blockbuster shattering the logo with a punch? Mid-silver either way. Great idea for a cross-era thread Post your broken logo covers!
  5. lolll yes maybe in a year from now it will!! Maybe the spiderman / star wars crossover treasury with the aunt may slapping darth vader panel! and throw in holding a pile of logs and a cameo or 2 Preferably by Woodgod....
  6. Oh, and Crandall, Check That's right, mea culpa, failed to mention in my rush to post before preparing dinner. Had this book on my mind for this thread for a few days and finally had a chance to dig it out this a.m. Mrmyst, we may all be looking for a nice one for a while ... Last I checked, which was a while ago, there were four on the census, with the highest being a 6. There are some cool post-Plastic Man Police covers, but I've pored over Gerber and I think this is head and shoulders above the rest. I'll do the splash page after I settle the house down.
  7. Hey, if posting that "Snarky Parker" didn't kill this thread, a little SA sure ain't. I got the idea to post OA from DavidMerryweather...don't blame me! Buuut....last time I did, it flushed All Star 3, All-Winners 19, and ShockSuspenstories 6....so I'm taking some credit As to Snarky Parker, that post has me considering pulling the trigger on a Howdy Doody #1....is there a Therapy thread??? Carry on...
  8. Love to see what you guys think about this book...for the life of me, I'm surprised it doesn't get more love. Bondage? Check. Headlights? Check. Korean War-era racist stereotype for a villain? Check. And there's a whipping on the splash page too. I can go back and photograph that later.
  9. They charge a buyer's premium. The buyer pays their fee, not the seller. Buyer's premium Screwing buyers every day...because they can +1 Smokescreen. If I'm the buyer, I look at how much I'm putting into the book. Total spend is total spend. Yes the agent should make a cut of course but let's not pretend there's any substance to the name we give it. To be clear, I DO NOT think anyone is being disingenuous, I just find buyer's premium/seller's premium to be an irrelevant distinction.
  10. IF the Journey Into Mystery #89 is in high grade, it may surprise you at auction as that one is tough in higher grades.
  11. Fast Willie Jackson. Not cheap, but cheap for what they are. All fairly tough, especially the last one. The 1970's African-American answer to Archie comics. Same guy who did those Golden Legacy comics, I think. Apochrypha has it that they had an Archie artist doing it on the side and there was pressure applied to shut it down, or somesuch.
  12. Love it! Gold Key's answer to Tales of Asgard 1! It compiles the back-up feature from Magnus. Lemme rephrase that -- if this book is 1967, it precedes Tales of Asgard (Oct '68).
  13. Welcome to the boards, and please enjoy this process! I am confused by one thing above -- "low ball biz at .15 cents" -- Isn't ASM129 a .20-cent cover price?
  14. That looks like a demonically possessed Howdy Doody!
  15. Great GGA! You have to wonder though why the housebreaker is wearing a gas mask? Ya think there's an intentional resemblance to The Sandman going on there for whatever reason? Anyway, great book; congrats!
  16. Babies to Doiby (aka infants to infantry, if you insist)
