Price History of Amazing Fantasy 15
TheFifthHorseman replied to blue_hero_8's topic in Comics General
I agree. AF15 = mega key. Spidey is huge and the cover is classic. -
Safety deposit boxes are insured but the items cannot be replaced. Only reason I bring this up us because couple of years ago in NY there was an overnight/overweekend bank job - they raided a bunch of depo boxes and whatever valuables were inside were gone unless recovered. Doubt this happens often but was just interesting. I don't trust banks. Biggest racket there is

Detective Comics #35 (Larson Pedigree) no longer PLOD
TheFifthHorseman replied to Red_Hood's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
Honestly I don't see either label affecting the sale price of this book in an auction. Clearly it's a beautiful book. People looking to buy THIS book aren't buying the label. -
@Comcav funding Rick's retirement!

Same. Right place, right time. His reign won't last forever

I'm a bit of both of say. I love my GA and nobody will pry that stuff from my cold lifeless fingers. But flipping books is quite...exhilirating. I've lost a little bit and have made a little bit flipping moderns and variants. Most of the time I break even. I have pretty good taste so most of the covers I pick out do well. But that's just it - moderns are about the C O V E R S. Treat them like bartering chips...trading cards. And dump 'em on someone else Edit: to add, I'd say you can expect that the QUALITY of your listing and the way you market yourself will affect the final value of a sale on eBay- probably by about 10-15% at least. I see people taking the most ridiculous pictures and writing the worst headlines. They are your competition and if you can set yourself apart from them and stay ahead of the curve you can make some $$$

@ComicConnoisseur Last year, hah, get a kick out of this... Well, I won't give it away (perhaps a board member) but I spent well over 2k on a CGC 9.9 Dell'Otto sometime last year. I never got the book in hand - something about a reslab from cgc and was taking forever. Anyway he charged me a 10% restock for a refund but I got most of the money back. I feel like I dodged a bullet.

@MrBedrock I came here to post these because I just bought them But I swear on Marilyn Monroe's grave I saw them on my own TODAY. I haven't checked pre code purchases in a while@MrBedrock this is some trippy sh@t I bought these because it's one of the coolest friggan covers I've ever seen. I came here to post 'em and be all like "how the hell is this book not worth more n stuff." Such a great cover I don't care at all about the PQ of mine - #2 still looks supple anyway. Then I come to post these and there your 9.0 is staring me in the face. Not taunting me but reassuring me a made I good purchase. Funny how things work out sometimes. Congrats on yours!

@MrBedrock dude... I JUST saw this cover today but not from here!!

Agree 200%! One can make it just as fast as they can lose it. You're right: you gotta be ON TOP of buying/selling as a speculator...the market will change in an instant

Agree 100%

Last year I bought a Batman #608 RRP CGC 9.4 for $1350. I flipped it a few months later on eBay for $2025. I took that money and turned it into something much cooler (and much more rare) No idea what the market for that book looks like now but I don't really care. What I ended up with was, for me, much better
