  1. I drank that kool aid for 3:25 with my speakers up full blast. You’ve never heard a woman scream like Mrs. GrapeApe just did. ”Turn that F/“^*’g thing off !!!!!!” WTFF When I drink Kool Aid I do like art more then money. When the bills are due and I’m out of Kool Aid I’ll take the dirty money for the art. Gotta go make the couch up. Thanks Vodou😢
  2. My money is on Michael. $10 he finds $Ten FMV art before Christmas
  3. The page 16 is terrific. Absolutely breathtaking and I’m sure the buyer is pleased with the acquisition.
  4. Alcala went from the penthouse to the doghouse over the last twenty years haha. He’s taking some shots lately. What happened I like his work on early Savage Sword of Conan.oh well 😂 God it would be funny if Alfredo actually used a spatula on his inking duties 🤣
  5. Marvel Two-In-One 42 page 6 Sam shares inking credit with Alfredo Alcala over Sal Buscema. This one on ComicConnect.

  7. That's a good observation. Is it trimmed or was the pic edited right at the border? I can live with a lot of condition issues though I loathe unnecessary restoration projects. Congrats to the winner nothing really detracting and could be just the way photo is edited. I was with you batman_fan early this morning around $20k I prayed this stayed sub $35K. If you love Snoopy (I do) this is the page. Now in a daily I'd like at least 1 Charlie Brown and 1 Snoopy.
  8. Little Ape was just 2 months old when this was created. Live bidding always breaks your heart. Easter and happy dance Snoopy made this one irresistible and for grapeape unobtainable.
  9. It was a great acquisition Dino. That quote from Cicero a delicious touch by Byrne. D O O M
  10. Of course I think that's exactly right. Still props to Manara has us talking about him. He's a treasure for sure at least in my eyes.
  11. That's a salient point. I obviously admire and adore much of the masters earlier work. This one is stunning and provocative but ultimately makes me uncomfortable to hang on the wall with Mrs. Ape giving me the evil eye. That's not unusual with some of his great work. I liked it but it took on some crazy bidding. I do think as one of my friends told me privately it was a chase for the "signature" but is it Manara's best work for that amount? This was a fun day I liked a few pages but didn't get anything. Lately I've been underestimating the final hammer price so..... hey we keep trying. Good point Rick2you2. Props to MatchesMalone who went hard but came up short
  12. The happy dance Peanuts Snoopy Sunday from April 1968 hammers at $62.500. That’s great for those who have a Sunday and see their investment is strong. For the rest of us
  13. Haha no...she told me, “ do what you want.” The same way mom let me touch that hot stove when I wouldn’t listen as a kid. I read between the lines and laid off...I could’ve justified at $23K so good on you for trying that much harder. 37 K probably paying premium due to the “controversy” involved. I really did like it though Manara a legend man. Honestly 30K should’ve been enough I’m really off on me preestimates now😢
  14. John updated recently and is very grateful for the love and support. He's just shy of half the goal of $15.000. Yoram was great to bring this to our attention. I'm hoping everyone that reads this will make a small donation if you can and SHARE the go fund me link above. John is a wonderful guy and it's a chance to give back and feel good.
  15. At least he didn't draw the art sideways like some of his work. Imagine the amount of chicklets he could've filled in had he worked the page with a pov of length wise
  16. I “read” comics for their literacy benefits.Where’s the OA ?
  17. Go Big Red!!!! Ae a young lad from NYC young grape apes grandmother was relocated to Omaha, Nebraska in 1974. I spent every summer there and was indoctrinated to become a Husker. My grandmother lived long enough to see the Huskers win the 1994 NCAA Championship, steamrolling the Miami Hurricanes in Miami with a 15-0 4th quarter. Even grandma noticed how Ray Lewis, Warren Sapp and the rest of the Canes were breathing hard, heads down hands on their hips. This was Providence you posting J Sid. R I P Grandma Marie
  18. Does Jim Lee own this? I’d like to see the OA page. X-Men (Vol2) # 4
  19. When I posted this, I had hoped we would comport ourselves as ladies and gentlemen of culture. That we would look to our better selves and discuss the finer points of this European masterpiece. Nah.... Actually this is exactly what I thought would happen. I poured the gasoline and my friends lit the 🔥
  20. “Right next to the framed divorce papers?”—Gene I suspect Mrs. Ape soon to be Ms. Maiden Name would take the frame but leave the divorce papers along with a personal note and pen. ”Just sign the papers A- #0£€.”
