  1. Long term hold unless you need the money. It appears they used a vile of Logan's blood to create her. Any love for Wolverine 80 coming? You know that's a good question and tough call as I've read a few times over the last 6 months or so that Quesada has stated the connection was not planned on; as in not on purpose. I'm not sure if he is saying there is no official relation, OR he didn't plan for it to be but since the vial IS labeled X-23 and Laura Kinney IS codenamed X-23 it stands. I don't have either issue but would love to get a minty copy of NYX #3 for investment comic collection and a mid grade for PC if I the prices are right. I'm personally not into the whole baby/test tube/vial type of 1st appearances
  2. I preferred faxing the arguments back and forth with my cousin. I preferred smoke signals . . . I am absolutely loving the other convo going on in here. Its great and hilarious. Here we are writing Drunk History with the last 20 pages and all the non-sense being said, and here's this nice pleasant conversation and people reminiscin' .
  3. That's exactly why they don't want anyone to ask eBay....because eBay will allow the refund based on a book not being what is claimed to be in the listing for 30 days. Sellers who sold copies using 1st appearance of GCS in Tec 850 would have to take returns and refunds on the listing. Ebay will side with buyer as its super buyer friendly.
  4. The problem is not really people pumping books but people using lies and misinformation to pump books. It's one thing to say you like East of West and recommend it to others and another to say Showcase '96 3 is the first appearance of the Birds of Prey. Or trying to connect the most trivial, tangentially related to something that's actually hot. This.
  5. Because alot of them posted Tec 850 for sale with 1st appearance of GCS in the title and will be subject to refunds if Tec 850 is not 1st app. I think BigNoid and RawKing are the same person . . . Haha haha don't go the Ultramaximus route. He's called me 3 different people already in public and private. Just because he has summarized many things I have said and we agree on GCS 1 does not mean we are the same person. Don't know him at all.
  6. Thanks for volunteering to be the 1st on the list. See all the books you post at inflated prices based on cBSi aricles. The timing is impeccable, it's almost like you know what to post when....Amazing. For example...? You know what you do and have done. I don't need to bring it up here. I don't understand why people want their dirty laundry out and about all the time. Esepcially when you have a site about comics with "scalping" in the title. You know about word association and market perception right?
  7. Because alot of them posted Tec 850 for sale with 1st appearance of GCS in the title and will be subject to refunds if Tec 850 is not 1st app.
  8. Thanks for volunteering to be the 1st on the list. See all the books you post at inflated prices based on cBSi aricles. The timing is impeccable, it's almost like you know what to post when....Amazing.
  9. So you just admitting that since you missed the GOOD spec, you decided to pump other unrelated books without reading the story of how the Sirens form? L oh L. What are you talking about? You make no sense. Always trying to pivot to completely unrelated claims about other non-topic doo doo. I have been AGAINST CW89 AND CGS 1 AS WELL from the jump of this conversation. Go back and look. Damn, I bet you're annoying at parties and always blowing peoples buzzs by just generally being THAT dude. Now I know where CBT was coming from with you you fly out to left field all the time during debate conversation and no one knows what you are talking about. What other books am I even talking about? I argued against all the other books prior to GCS. 1. Im for GCS 1....I don't own a copy of it, not a copy of CW89, not a copy of HQ3. Again keep trying and pivoting when you fail. I'm arguing against anything vs GCS 1 as 1st app and I have no skin in game. I don't own any copy of any of those books. Ive said before if I come across a cheap copy of GCS 1. I will pick it up at least 2 to 3 times in the last 10 pages. I'm trying to help people not overpay for books based on weak links and arguments, when the continuity is established by Dini through Catwoman making her statement. Had it been any one other than cBSi running with Tec 850 like it did as the 1at app, I would be saying same thing. Like I told you in my first and only response to your pm, we are not going to agree so the point is moot. We should be focusing on what the movie of Gotham City Sirens is about, that is where the other specs are. Said that earlier as well.
  10. A group with long-term organization. I'm not sure this is accurate, even ignoring the many months between 'Tec 850 and GCS 1. "My first step was calling in favors from old friends." Maybe a team-up, certainly not a team. You don't think there's any implication there about how Slam heard about what happened? They all "simply aid Catwoman" using their specific abilities. Yes, people should read comics rather than speculating on unconnected BS. Thanks for pointing out Dini, yup he wrote GCS 1 too. Now think about that.Again. Think about who is making Catwoman speak. Dini. So up until that point in current continuity, Dini is saying that "team-ups" before that weren't officially as a team. Other wise he would not have her make the suggestion to band together , IF they were already a team before that point in time. That is all you need.
  11. Nice pivot, not biting. You do realize I have been also been debating HQ3 and CW89 here with the others against the TEC850 the whole time, right? Maybe go back and read what I've been saying from the jump. Thanks for trying though.
  12. Of course you agree with Ween, youre as Pro-cBSi as they come. You and the other mouthpiece. You are also the one that brought Tec 850 up on here as soon as cBSi ran with it. You are also in deep with them and were knighted as a mod on the podcast, your ability to be unbiased has already been skewed way back during the last go around. Of course you are gonna go with Tec 850 that's a given and I wouldn't expect you not to because God forbid anyone calls out a bunk claim cBSi makes. They send the dogs out just like now and claim its a grudge against them. Couldn't possibly be the fact they hyped a dollar bin fodder book as spec of the year. 1st appearance at any chance they could get without checking other books? No def not that. They tell everyone to do their own research and apparently didn't do their own. What's funny is I already know how this is gonna go down on the podcast which you and linguini will be modding for any dissent or anything that goes against Tec 850 even when the proof is from Catwomans own words in GCS 1. Why would she suggest they band together if they were a team at any point already in prior canon? You can't argue with that. So anyways, and I already heard how this is gonna go too- gonna double down on Tec850 as the 1st appearance because cBSi can't take another L, even despite Catwomans rallying statement, and then pass the buck on to members for not doing their own research and claiming they didn't advise anyone to go out and buy it. Probably already scrubbing the forum of their comments about it. Then they are gonna bash people despite the truth being right in their face and claim them as disgruntled ex-members. Its the cBSi way of dealing with being called out. They have done this many times before. Its a poo show and you're right there standing in it. As far as your pm asking about eBay names, I already told you....I don't sell on eBay or Amazon I only buy. I'm not giving you my name so you can go snoop around and see what I'm buying and give you ideas to spec on and report back to the clown squad so they can use it in the future. I also don't feed trolls in private. You've been on my Johnson poking in and out g+ communities trying to find out who I am so you can harass me some more. You've already called me 3 different people now. Thats creepy. I don't have the time to play silly games with you especially in private. What's funny is everyone you included in those messages, we don't know each other nor talk. We just collectively laugh. All different people saying similar things, just like now with this. I have no copies of any of these books, I just don't like the misinformation out there that was peddled by them. I didn't even realize this was an issue and thought it was rather obvious to anyone who read GCS 1 with Catwomans statement.
  13. You actually haven't read Tec 850, have you? I have read it. So story doesn't matter? Is that what you are saying? No story does matter, you are absolutely correct there, I will say Tec 850 is an important Sirens key book that does lead in to GCS but it's not their 1st appearance. We should be focusing on the plot line of the Sirens movie as that is where other specs lie.
  14. You actually haven't read Tec 850, have you? The main argument against any other book other than GCS 1 as their 1st appearance is in GCS 1 when Catwoman says exactly this to Ivy and Harley: "You know, the THREE of us have been living on the edge way too long. When we're not running from the police, we're fending off some costumed whack-job. Gotham is worse than ever. That gives us a choice -- we can get out, or BAND TOGETHER." Now think about this: if they were an actual team at any point before GCS 1, then why would Catwoman suggest they band together (as a team) again if they already were a team? Makes no sense. Not to mention the story arc of issue is called "Union."
  15. I would like to say thank you for a healthy, heated but friendly debate. I have no ill will towards you, I just fail to see the logic behind your stance. I'm trying to do so, and I see a bit of where you are coming from in the sense of without Tec 850 there would be no GCS (although that can also be debated to the end of time as any number of villains and story lines could have been used), but just because Tec 850 exists doesnt mean there would be no GCS. That's not even the debate though....we are debating their 1st appearance as an official team with name in continuity which does not happen until GCS # 1. Saying without Tec 850 there would be no GCS isn't proving anything about their 1st appearance though. Tec 850 was the last time they worked together before GCS but that doesn't mean it's their 1st appearance. Also it wasn't just Ivy and Harley in Tec 850 working together, Oracle and Holly Robinson along with Slam are part of the revenge plan. Those 3 other people are not referenced in GCS # 1 by Catwoman when suggesting they band together as a team.
  16. My man...wtf does the lead have anything to do with them being named Gotham City Sirens? They aren't named or even an official group in Tec 850. Please tell me because based on "the lead" at the end where Catwoman gets revenge on Hush, Selina has help from Oracle, Slam, AND Holly Robinson in addition to Ivy and Harley. So by your claim of Tec 850 being their 1st appearance, Oracle and Holly Robinson should be in the Gotham City Sirens Team then. Have you read either issue? Because in GCS # 1, it's Catwoman rallying "THE THREE OF US" (not the 5 of us + Slam Bradley) to "BAND TOGETHER" as in form a team (hence the "Union," again, as in uniting as an official team, story arc title). Sure Tec 850 leads story wise into GCS #1, which is where they officially form the team, hence the title of the book and their 1st appearance. There is no mention of forming a team or even a team-up in Tec 850-Ivy, Harley, Oracle, Holly, and Slam carry out the revenge plan on Hush to HELP Catwoman. Gotham City Sirens doesn't appear anywhere in the story of Tec 850. Pulling at straws that don't exist. It sounds like you have buyers remorse for jumping on an overpriced book and buying into a spec sites swoon song about the "spec of the year" Edit- again for clarification, I have no copies of any of these books. I have no skin in the game, but if I find a cheap copy of GCS#1 in my travels, I will snag it.
  17. I am huge Carnage fan and the 2016 series is woefully underrated. Del Mundo kills all the covers be does for that series. There's alot of 1st apps in that series as well that could pan out in the future. Carnage also has his powers increased and modified by the Darkhold, and is extremely powerful now. My favorite Carnage cover of all time besides ASM # 361 and the Special Edition Acclaim Variant to Maximum Carnage is Carnage # 2 Crain 1:25 from current series. It used to go for $15 until it was talked about on some of the g+ spec groups and when cBSi pimped the Putri variant to # 3. Then it jumped to 60 but has dropped to around $30 to 40, however it is becoming harder and harder to find. Used to be about 10-15 copies on the one site now maybe 3. I also love the Carnage U.S.A. covers and variants.
  18. Don't know what you are talking about.... you don't sell comics? seriously tired of trolls on this thread... First off, I'm not trolling whatsoever. What exactly do you mean when you say you don't know what I'm talking about? It's pretty simple. They literally pumped up Detective Comics #850 as the 1st appearance of Gotham City Sirens. Before Topher posted a thread on CBSI, it was easily found online and ebay for $1-3 a copy. Then he and Trey pumped it up around the clock for days on end, it vanished from ebay and now sells for $30+ a copy based on a false labeling of 1st appearance of Gotham City Sirens, a label they single-handedly created. Trey even said on their board, as well as the podcast, that this was one of the specs of the year. Well here we are now finding out there are at least 2 other books that are absolutely before TEC850 with the Gotham City Sirens together. Oh, and what does me selling or not selling books have to do with anything I posted? You sir are a grade A insufficiently_thoughtful_person. The post for tec 850 was made well before Trey's post about the so called " spec of the year" and it was one post in a G+ group. Trey posted about it some time after. If you are claiming that he pump and dumped 850 you better have some proof sir. Also show me where they pumped it around the clock. The reason it's the first appearance is pretty clear. The money stolen from Hush leads right into issue 1 of Sirens. Any other appearance by the three might be cool to own but has nothing to do with the Sirens.. I dare anyone here to find a single book where the narrative from GCS is in a book that predates issue 1 of GCS. Unless you can do that I would say Tec 850 is the winner. Topher made the post about TEC850 on December 14th. Trey ABSOLUTELY talked about Topher's pick of TEC850 as one of the specs of the year on his podcast. It's really simple. The first time all 3 are seen together in a comic book is Batman Adventures 12. The first time all 3 are shown together on a cover is Harley Quinn volume 1 #3. The first time all 3 are together as the Sirens (and named the Sirens on the cover) is Gotham City Sirens #1. So the true 1st appearance of Harley, Ivy and Catwoman as the Sirens is Gotham City Sirens #1. Put any problem you have with CBSI aside and explain to me how the narrative is not important. 850 leads directly into GCS 1. This is all I am asking. If seeing the Sirens name in print on a cover is all you need, I have a book that predates issue 1 of Sirens. But Tec850 predates them both. And don't forget to show some proof as to how they pumped it around the clock. I think you are also confused as to what Pump and Dump means. They would have to be selling these books after all this so called " around the clock " pushing of the book. Can you prove that they do that? Again please explain to me how the narrative from tec850 does not constitute their first as the Sirens. I don't have any issues with cbsi or the people there, and by the way you are coming at me and defending misinformation spread by Topher and their podcast, then I can only assume you are an admin at cbsi or a close friend to an admin there. If you continue to say Detective Comics 850 is the 1st appearance of the Sirens, you and anyone on their/your board is deliberately spreading bunk information and people should all be speaking up. Making the quote "spec of the year" numerous times and chest thumping about the "discovery" without any official confirmation from any accepted authority (and cBSi is by far not an accepted authority when it comes to deciding key moments in comics) saying that they appear 1st anywhere else besides GCS # 1 (which the story of the 1st issue is called "Union" as in they unite as an official team) is spreading misinformation and misleading thousands of people. All the while making healthy profits of all the cheap copies King Pump and Chumps scooped up in dollar bins while pumping the ever living doody out of Tec 850 at any chance they could onsite, podcast, site forums, and g+community. Its things like this that make them more and more irrelevant and the equivalent of shill site. Unfortunately cBSi could be so much more with a completely different inner-circle. When any book other than Tec 850 is confirmed as their 1st appearance, the walk back from cBSi is going to be hilarious. The "we didn't advise anyone to go out and buy it without doing their own research" schpeel will be put out in an article or statement on the g+ group. That's their out on everything especially on the g+ group where Trey specifically says don't ask for advice.....but then proceeds to pump out "advice" articles and allow mods to make statements on books which is thinly veiled advice. Funny how the mods can can do that even though its "against the rules." Oh that's right, Trey tells them what to talk about and put in articles. Conflict of interest much? All of that is readily found from King Pumps keyboard in HIS Top 10 comments section from 12/3/2016. Unless he deleted them like he has in past. If he did I have screenshots anyways.
  19. And ASM 252 is the 1st appearance of the Venom symbiote but it is not called that until 4 years later. It is referred to as the black suit all the way until it merges with Brock (take your pick of #299, #300), then it is officially known as the Venom symbiote even when it leaves Brock as has been the case since it first left. Besides all its hosts after it left Brock being called Venom, we can look at all the variant covers of the symbiote merged with all different types of heroes and villains- they are all referred to as "the Venom Variant," not "the Black Suit Variant," or whatever character it has been merged with on the cover. Im shocked people (not you personally, I mean in general) even take debates of this type of stuff this far as a 1st named appearance in print has always GENERALLY been regarded as THE GENERALLY accepted 1st appearance for the last 2-3 decades at least. More so after CGC came to the scene. Of course their are exceptions but they are few and far between with no rhyme or reason. It isn't clarified until an official announcement from the publisher or an accepted authority like CGC and other grading companies. Just like the case of Invincible Iron Man # 7 & 9 until Marvel labled the 3rd print with a blurb on the cover of 7 with "Featuring the First Appearance of Riri Williams." The infinity stones were around before the Infinity Gauntlet but weren't named the Infinity Gauntlet until all were collected and put on Thanos glove which he always had. Just wasn't THE Infinity Gauntlet until named in print after stones were mounted by Thanos. Next thing you know, people will be claiming the 1st time Ben Reilly, Kaine, and Peter Parker "team-up" back in the late 90s will be the 1st app of the Web Warriors
  20. From the 91 series? yep Really grasping at straws with this and Tec 850. Just because the word "team" is in there doesn't mean they are the Gotham City Sirens. They have had many "team-ups" over the years, never called Gotham City Sirens until.........wait for it........Gotham City Sirens # 1 August 2009. Call them whatever you want before that book, they are not officially named as Gotham City Sirens until......again, wait for it.....Gotham City Sirens # 1. Just because they "team-up" here doesn't mean that they are officially named Gotham City Sirens. Everyone is trying to find something cheap to buy into because GCS #1 has blown up, followed by the shill claim of Tec 850. So it's on to the next one to hype up. Edit- I actually have NONE of any of these books and don't plan to buy in on any unless I find GCS # 1 in a back issue box for cover or for less than $10.
  21. Some of those wizard books still sell well. I had the run from issue # 6 to about 70 something as I had a subscription back then. I gave 95 percent away in 2002 to a friend who lost his 30 yr collection in a freak dryer lint fire. I did keep a few random issues #7 Flash Variant, # 11 Spawn, #14 Women of Marvel from that time, and Issue # 42 Alex Ross Heroes Gatefold Wrap Around Variant are the ones off top of my head. I don't see the #7 Flash Variant much at all. Whenever I see #7, it's always for the X-O Manowar cover. My uncle gave me the Flash version and kept the X-O cover before I ended up subscribing after # 10.
  22. That's why I thought I'd share. I was listing 1st appearances that I think were overlooked by the majority of collectors.
  23. I was going for 1st appearances in my post that I haven't seen many people talk about. I totally feel ya on Bats 14 and I absolutely love Cover A, its gorgeous. If going that route, I'd mention Harley 11 as it's the 1st post Rebirth Joker appearance other than him in the future "dead" in Batman Beyond 1 and a partial cameo flashback in Batgirl and Birds of Prey Rebirth. DC Rebirth Holiday Special has been selling a couple bucks above the cover price of 9.99 consistently too. Edit- forgot to mention Thanos. I'm always intrigued by Thanos, so I'll give most titles with him a shot. I've been a fan since early 90s when I got a copy SS # 50 and Infinity Gauntlet # 1 they came out. I snagged the Dekal 1:25 and Kropinak 1:20, which I'm really digging. It is a "photo" variant of him and Death. Its just done nicely and shows a lighter side to him that you know isn't how he's going to be in the series. Although I feel the whole "Thanos is dying" bit is a poor attempt to draw hype for his appearance in GotG Vol 2. I guess it's time for his rite of passage "dying" gig that all popular feature characters go through
