  1. Great pickup, Ron. I too am looking for a great C3000 piece. While I can’t afford a cover, I do appreciate this one. It’s great.
  2. I heard it was Covid related. But, apparently he’s doing OK now. I’m posting my Cowan page in solidarity with Denys. He told me that this was one of his favorite pages from this series Get well Denys! UPDATE! 😊
  3. OK. So the episode was filmed a year ago. That explains why some of the pieces have been up for auction.
  4. They’re all late 30’s to 1940’s, based on what was said on the show. So, it makes you wonder.
  5. Uh oh. Is this another brewing Antiques Roadshow “planted collectibles” scandal?
  6. A guy brought in a portfolio full of classic original strip art that his father got from the creators, including a Prince Valiant Sunday strip, a Disney Mickey Mouse and a Herriman Krazy Kat. All signed. https://www.thirteen.org/programs/antiques-roadshow/original-comic-art-collection-ca-1937-mdwpwp/#
  7. I’d like to revise and extend my remarks, as the Congressmen say. My favorite “inexpensive” piece is one I bought most recently. I commissioned a Comic artist friend of mine to do a mock comic book panel page about my wife, for her birthday. She tolerates my hobby, but she does appreciate some of the art. She loved this. And so do I. And, yes. She said it was OK to post this.
  8. I think it’s “when I bought it” judging by most of the pieces. LOL! I think we have to put a temporal time limit on this stuff. Maybe 2 years? “I bought this great Jim Lee X-Men page in 1991 for $100” is not really in the spirit of this thread, I think.
  9. I think my neighborhood newsletter once mentioned that I Collected comic art. 😂
  10. Almost all of my pages qualify as “inexpensive” in hobbyist terms. Most are only a few hundred dollars. And all but 1 were purchased in the past 5 years. But, if I had to choose....
  11. Definitely looks like Kirby to me. But I’m not an expert.
  12. I’d write the producer of the video in question a friendly letter stating that you were excited to see a scan you took of your art on their program, and just assumed that it was an oversight on their part that it was not attributed to you, and that you did not receive any compensation for its use. Then suggest a $500 payment and attribution in all future broadcasts, or something. They’ll get the point.
  13. It’s likely that the attorney would cost you more than the compensation you’re owed.
  14. I don’t own any of his art, sadly. But for those who do, please feel free to post it in this thread as a tribute to Mort.
  15. That’s only half the porch. I took that photo from the bottom of the stairs to the main entrance.
  16. Didn’t know she was from Michigan. And she’s right about the Grand Hotel, which is on Mackinac Island. This is from a trip I made there 5 years ago
  17. WOW! https://www.ign.com/articles/long-lost-flash-gordon-comic-art-to-be-auctioned?amp=1
  18. My two pieces: A Lady Mechanika page (which I received in a January,) and a Frank Cirocco Alien Legion page I picked up on Jan 31, so I count it as February. LOL!
  19. That book in that grade is worth ~$12,000. I’d put it on eBay, take the cash and use that as an OA starter fund. Then spend a few months studying the market to get a feel for values
  20. I had this poster hanging in my dorm room. Unsigned, though.
