  1. That's what I've seen on eBay, $2,000 for a 9.0 I just got back into collecting a year ago, I don't remember rarity in reprints but I guess it's changing??
  2. I just saw a fourth print of the DKR, 1986, issue 1 for sale for 1000. The condition looked like a strict "7" to me. I can't find any information on if reprints are collectable or not, and if so, what is the price range for this book? Seems like the ultimate DKR book to own? There is one on eBay for 2k in 9.0 condition. Thanks, Nate
  3. Thanks guys, I typed in "newsstand" and got a bunch of sales. Looks like they range from $200-$300 in 9.8 I wouldn't mind selling just one as I own two.
  4. I just got my Spawn 1 UPC variant back from CGC. I got lucky and received a 9.8 I've been looking for examples of sales for this book, but have only seen a couple that sold that weren't graded. Any idea on the current collectability and value of this book? Thanks, Nate
  5. I want to send a couple of CGC slabbed books to CCS for a press and re-grade. Is it better to leave the book in the slab so they can read the grader notes? Thanks, Nate
  6. Anyone? Might consider mint ungraded copies also.
  7. That's a good point, thanks Bob. I wonder if this is possible, it would be the best solution I would think.
  8. Adding additional signatures and getting the book pressed Hi, I have my ASM 300 signed by stan less (SS series), but would also like to get it pressed by Joey Post and add Todd McFarlanes signature. What is the protocol and least expensive way to do this? Do I send it to CFP for pressing and ask them to send it to a facilitator (NYComics) for Todds signature then off to CGC for a regrade with SS stamp? Or do I send the book to Joey, get pressed and regraded with the SS label, send the slabbed book to NYComics for Todd's signature, and then get it graded and reslabbed a second time? Thanks, hope this question was clear, Nate
  9. I don't know, but maybe you could get the back cover dry cleaned to remove the fingerprints?
  10. No indentation. I shined a black light to see if it was a different ink or water stain, but I don't see traces. I had another dark knight book, and it had major "Gloss" stains, I don't know what caused that either
  11. Dark Knight Returns #1 This book looks like a 9.8 on the front cover, but the back cover has a strange line of "extra gloss" on the lower middle left. How will this effect the grade? Is this a production error? (I swear I wasn't eating fried chicken when I picked up this copy brand new 30 years ago) Thanks, Nate
  12. Sending a personal pen with comic to get signed? Sending a personal pen with comic to get signed? Is this kosher? I'm looking to send in a graphic novel with dark cover to get sketched, and I'd prefer the artist to use a white pen. Or is it rude to send a pen with the submission? Thanks, Nate
  13. You're right Bob, just re-read the posts. To answer both questions: yes
  14. Does CGC forgive light scratches from artists SS? I understand that comics get regraded when they are submitted for signature series, but I am wondering if there is some forgiveness for light scratches/palm prints. For example a 9.8 book that looks like a 9.6 after being signed/handled. Thanks! Nate
  15. On all the 80's-90's issues? Including Marvel and DC? BTW, I had subscriptions in '86-89 for Marvel titles, and they were all delivered as direct edition, not UPC newsstand.
  16. CGC grading tightness over the years question I was a collector in the 80's before CGC, and about to get many graded. I am however curious as to CGC's grading timeline has been, were they tighter graders in the beginning, or looser graders? How are the CGC grades comparable to the first few years? I know they set the standard, so I'm sure grading styles have fluctuated with more and more information, just curious if there are more allowances for production flaws, fingerprints, etc. nowadays. Thanks, Nate
  17. How do you get a Frank Miller Sketch on a comic book (DKReturns) I'm curious, I would love to send in a copy of the dark knight returns to get signed by Miller and Janson, and hopefully a quick sketch by Miller, all under CGC SS yellow label. Are their facilitators that can do this? Also, I know NYComics is a facilitator and ComicSketchArt.com is or was, but I haven't gotten responses. Thanks!!!!! Nate
  18. Adding more signatures to an SS book, does it get regraded? This might have been covered already, but I'm curious if I have a SS book, and wanted to add another signature later on, does the book get regraded? Thanks, Nate
  19. I have to agree, I don't see any relaxed grading on the comics, which is good if you are a buyer/collector
