  1. HELL NAWWWWW! Can't stop. Won't stop.
  2. I think you can mentor me. May I PM you to discuss further?
  3. Here's the skinny: I have read and read on the website. Repeatedly. I still know nothing. Can the collective hold my hand and walk me through this? Please and thank you. Comiclink, how does it work exactly? I've signed up. Years ago. I watch, I covet and I dream of buying. I am unable, for the life of me, to determine what I will actually pay for something. If I bid x I will total x is not equating for me. I have contemplated just buying something to examine the invoice and chalking it up to a learning experience, but I can't bring myself to blank chequing something. Plussssssss, what the heck is going on with shipping? It is very vague. The curve ball is the shipping is to Canada in my case. Please wise ones, I have my Crayola in hand, and I'm ready to colour within the lines of Comiclink, please guide me.
  4. That's a funny thought. I remember my grandmother always saying "if you don't ask, you don't get" when I'd shy up in similar situations.
  5. Well said! I was discussing with the wife about this, and it occurred to me that I also read a lot of richie rich and I still am a fan to this day. My observation is that, I don't really remember any one particular comic book. I remember situations that richie rich would get into and what not, but there isn't a cover that stands out or a story line that blew my mind. I know all of the characters and settings, but I can't say "issue 6 was a banger!" I think one thing about richie rich and Casper too, another one I really enjoyed, was the sort of generic presentation of the characters. I liked that I could miss an issue and it was no big deal. I suppose that may be why there aren't many collectors for these.
  6. but you could have been Calvin Klein!
  7. Good spot to jump in haha
  8. He looks pretty cool even today!
  9. What was the first comic book that you purchased with your own money? It wasn't my first comic book, but I remember my father giving my sister and I our allowances. It was Friday. We were driving into the city and we would always stop at a particular convenience store in a small town on the way. It was an old general store type place that sold little bits of everything. My father would always get an Orange Crush slurpee and the latest Superman. It was a bitter sweet stop because it was the first time I had to buy my own slurpee and comic book. Until this point my father had always paid. Decisions had to be made. Often times I would wait in the car and my father would bring out some kind of super hero comic for me to read on the drive. Left to my own devices, I reached past the heroes and left the store with a Richie Rich. I can't for the life of me remember which one it was, but I remember, keeping tradition alive and all, I had also purchased an Orange Crush slurpee. I remember my sister complaining on the drive home that the comic was all sticky and gross from my slurpee hands when it was her turn to read. Why am I remembering all of this? I was walking through a book store, the big box kind, that has a few comic spinner racks. There was a mother and maybe six year old girl standing there. The girl only had so much money and had two comics in hand. It was a budgeting teaching moment kind of thing. She had an Archie digest and something I had never seen before. It was a comic book, but one I wasn't familiar with. She took the Archie digest. Big life moment right there I said to my wife. Real wholesome stuff.
  10. Sweet mercy! Can you do a group shot with the pedigrees? I'm curious about them.
  11. Just a heads up you've posted this in the wrong forum and it will get pulled. You might ask a moderator to move it for you.

  14. That's good I like that. I like a classy tell off. I work outside in Winnipeg. When your mustache freezes to your beard and it hurts to open your mouth, or your eyes start freezing shut, then you have achieved cold.
