  1. I was also afraid that my guesses would be way off, as you never know! I think I'm a good grader until you get a professional to look them over. To be fair too, all my books were modern, so I feel like they are obviously much easier to guess and grade myself. I would struggle with older books. Here are the 4 main books A few copies of the detective 880 virgin black foil as well
  2. I just received my first CGC Submission and I wanted to start out with this topic as a very sincere and appreciative Thank You to the CGC team. Job Done. My 1st submission had a few blips and scrapes along the way, but at the end of my entire experience: Customer service was very quick and helpful to fix any issues I had, mitigating these issues that happened CGC was easy to get in touch with, and I did not feel as though I was being avoided or neglected The grading process was slow at first, but informative, and accurately timed. It ended quickly and shipping was ultra fast. CGC grades were fair and accurate. I can't say that I agree with every grade, but my estimates were extremely close, and in 1 instance it game in higher than I expected. All in all, it ended on a great note. My submission wasn't huge, but they were books I consider to be some modern grail books. Anyway, Thank you CGC It would be nice to hear how others' 1st experiences have gone, as I know a bad 1st impression is hard to shake.
  3. LOL 4 years later and he is still doing the same mess. Saw him this year and he totally molested my GN 5. Folded that book like it was a newspaper

  7. That was a bad list. 90s nostalgia hitting hard I wasn't sure if the OP was trying to make a joke?
  8. So in the scale... Near perfect falls in between Near Mint + and Mint? Perfect is better than Mint? I don't understand. Then is it Gem Mint then Perfect? 9.6 NM+ 9.7 NP 9.8 NM/M 10 GM 10.01 P
  9. Some great remarks here. As a newish collector, I'll have a book signed by the creators, or by the writers/artists team etc... however Stan Lee's signature, I'm told, and I would agree with, only accentuates books that are already in great quality. I have a few books signed by him, spider-man gold upc 1 and x-men 101 both signed. Do either books seem more adequate with him signing it? ah... Do I find hulk 181 more adequate with his signature? no. Is hulk 181 better with len and herb's sigs? more so. The thing is I find with some books, I'm not stuck on sigs. I'm more adamant with sigs on modern books. Saga 1 x2 vaughan staples. High grade 181 is more important imo if you think your 181 is a lower grade, 7.5 or lower, then a sign definitely helps.
  10. Im actually pretty jealous. You got a 9.6 graded. I have a double signed, which I thought was rare, but raw...
  11. I feel like a parent giving his 1st child to the world. I'm just back into the collecting gig, for about 2 years now. Had a heart attack while in line to get the latest sig, Frank Miller's... Just missing Joe's now!
  12. So funny! I have been looking for a BWS signed book for YEARS. Found my holy grail. The book that got me started on him... MCP 74 Hope it's a real one...?
