  1. Both are beautiful! The #6 is the only Sub-Mariner I've never owned at one time or another. I should rectify that.
  2. I love Disney books and have 100s but the vast majority I have bought at discount to guide prices. I like to say I channel my inner Uncle Scrooge when buying Disney and almost always look for the bargain. Collect what you love and you will never be disappointed.
  3. I was thinking about getting plane tickets for Oafcon since prices are tanking but I cannot find confirmation on the dates? Do you know where you saw Oct 17-18? Its probably right in front of me but my search skills are failing.
  4. This cover has one of the coolest planes that most people do not know existed:the Northrop P-61 Black Widow Night Fighter. One of the first, the first?, planes to have what we think of now as a radar nose cone. It also had an analog computer controlling the turret: General Electric GE2CFR12A3 gyroscopic fire control computer. Solid black during its service as a night fighter with a very distinctive outline. In fact, it was so strange and eerie looking, one was used as a distraction during a WW II rescue of prisoners of war in the Philippines. The following is taken from Wikipedia: "On 30 January 1945, a lone P-61 performed a mission as part of the successful raid carried out by U.S. Army Rangers to free over 500 Allied POWs held by the Japanese at the Cabanatuan prison camp (Camp Pangatian) in the Philippines. As the Rangers crept up on the camp, a P-61 swooped low and performed aerobatics for several minutes. The distraction of the guards allowed the Rangers to position themselves, undetected within striking range of the camp." Hundreds of Japanese troops were killed as they stared in glassy eyed amazement at the P-61 above them. The Rangers, Scouts, and Philippine guerrillas took minimal causalities and rescued all of the POWs. Here is a link to the Wiki article on the camp: Raid_at_Cabanatuan Love love love this plane and this book! Congratulations!
  5. Great guy and I hope is wife is doing well. His attitude and personality was fantastic. I really enjoyed my short interaction with him a couple of years ago.
  6. Absolutely. I picked up a raw Marvel Mystery at a con and, by touch, I immediately knew it had been reglossed. This is something that I might have missed if I wore gloves. These youngsters need to take a breath and feeeel the book!
  7. Its been a while since I posted but I just picked this up from ComicLink's auction. While there quite a few I'd like to upgrade, I only need one book to complete the #1-#612 plus annuals.
  8. That's cool that they post their exhibitors list. No one in my area posts theirs and I've now decided I am not wasting my time going to any of the local cons because I just don't know who will be there. There is really no excuse not to post your list unless you are trying to hide the fact that out of 50 vendors there will only be 2 light weight comics dealers, a strip club, State Farm, and a mobile tattoo parlor.
  9. Gotta hand it to MyComicShop for packing. This book came triple boxed!
  10. If you ever wish to exchange one of those Atom Bombs for some filthy lucre...
