  1. I see that Berkbridge is still up on eBay. Are they a legit charity? They have a tagline that purchases in their ebay store are tax free. That gives them an advantage over other sellers. I think I will form a charity fighting collectibles addiction in fat, white,Super Helpful IT workers.
  2. That's one of those books that if you want a copy you take it as you find it and can afford it! Nice score! Here's mine.
  3. I've posted my Barks paintings in other threads but I've never posted my wood carvings by Joe Ortega. Joe is a folk artist whose family is known for their wood carvings. The triceratops looking critter is actually a Zuniceratops Joe made for us on request. The Zuiceratops has only been found in New Mexico so far. The 7 foot tall giraffe needs no explanation.
  4. Yeah, but I've been in Information Technology for 25 years and I have never seen a commerce site go offline for over a week just to upgrade the interface. Remember GPA? Their new site may have needed a little more work but they transitioned quickly from old to new. Don't know why you would keep a site down, losing thousands everyday, unless it was compromised and the replacement was not quite ready to roll. Maybe Vincent could have given everybody at CC and Metro 2 weeks off for the holidays. Pure speculation of course but
  5. Tough question here are my 2. The All Select #1 is the best book in my collection by far. It would be one of the last books I would sell but I would sell it. My Donald Duck #27 is unique in high grade, only 9.4, nothing higher, and next highest are (3) 8.5s, and it is one of my wife's favorites so its staying till I die.
  6. Around 1993 the comic store I worked at had about 100 people with pull lists. Even cutting that in half means that with 5000 shops there were 250,000 solid collectors in the U.S. I think there are more than that now especially if you include anime and TPB buyers.
  7. The rarity of many Duck books in high grade always floors me. Books printed in the hundred of thousands and yet true NM and higher are just not seen. I admit that Barks collectors tend to hoard so this may change in the next 20 years as people pass away but right now, this is the lone 9.4 on the census with the next highest being (3) 8.5s!
  8. When my copy popped up on Metro I pulled the trigger before they could get a picture up.
  9. This does not, necessarily, mean that Comiclink is compromised. It means that the username password combination you use on Comiclink shows up in one of any number of databases out in world which contain compromised account information. You should change your password on Comiclink. Never reuse any password because once it is compromised, it is forever compromised. These databases do not go away they are just added to as new accounts are hacked. Do not just add random characters to the end or beginning of a password you know is compromised. Hackers know people do this and they run password hacking programs which will take known username/password combinations and change the leading and/or trailing characters, eg. password1, 1password, password123, password1234, etc. Get a plugin like Lastpass and do not store your passwords in your browser because the "security" protecting them is laughingly easy to break.
  10. Please add Complete Comics #2 to the Alex Schomburg set. Cert #2004403003 for example. Thanks! Added to set. Thank you
  11. Thanks for this explanation and story, Cat! I appreciate it when the elite collectors share both the back story and the cautionary warning.
  12. Ouch! Somebody tried to destroy history!
