  1. Got these at a local second hand book store last night. Not in perfect condition, but for .99 each I wasn't gonna argue.
  2. Here is the guy's ebay handle again. My original post was deleted because I used bad language, my fault there. daniel51369 The story was I sold him a Marvel Essential book. After a week said he didn't like it after he read the entire thing. Nothing was wrong with the book. Great condition and described correctly. I told him that wasn't a good reason to return it and he's already read it so it had likely been handled a bit. I did accept the return because on eBay you really have no choice. Even if your policy says no returns they can still return it. I didn't let it go that far. I refund the guy in full plus shipping both ways, then he negs me in my feedback because I didn't agree with him. He leaves a LOT of negative feedback to sellers, scroll back on his "feedback left for others" tab. I have only left negative feedback when someone is completely and utterly unreasonable, maybe 3-4 times in 15 years. This guy's a peach.
  3. Definitely underappreciated. I remember I was in junior high when it came out. I had read and loved all of the Miller DD run that I had at the time...#160's - 180's, found at a flea market for 25 cents each. I distinctly remember Ronin just being so different from his DD work. I liked it, but didn't quite "get it" at the time. The art was great, the story was weird. I also read Heavy Metal magazine at that time so I could see the European comics' influence on Miller's work. Ronin's style has always reminded me of Moebius. Reading it later, as an adult, it made more sense - but still weird.
  4. That photo makes me think of the terrible Roger Corman Fantastic Four movie....
  5. I guess I'm with you on this. If something is made to be rare it does "seem" kinda fake, at least to me. Others believe differently, and that's fine. I get it. If someone thinks a variant cover is awesome and has to have it that's great. When people start speculating, thinking the value is going to increase long-term they might have problems. There are always exceptions, but I think most variants will trend down in value. It's probably better to buy bronze or copper keys at some of these prices. Other types of variants, like price variants might be better. A good modern example of this is the Amazing Spider-Man #607 $3.99 newsstand variant - which also had a UPC printing error saying "Sensational Spider-Man ."
  6. I hope it grades that way. I really like this book and being a Walking Dead fan I like zombies....So having a book with a Jack Kirby zombie cover makes me...
  7. No problem man. It does kind of look like that in the pic. That staple is kind of pushed into the book, but luckily all pages are attached.
  8. Thanks for the feedback guys. The staples aren't rusted and all of the inner wraps are fully secured by both staples. There are 2 small tears on the inner spread near the top staple.
  9. PGM - Black Magic #28 1954 Black Magic #28 1954. This book definitely has some problems, but it isn't too bad. It seems pretty rare as I've looked for other copies without any success, so I'll be submitting it anyway. Thanks for your feedback!
  10. A comic book itself isn't art...it just isn't. They are printed publications. I love them. I've collected them for decades and have over 10 thousand, but a floppy isn't a piece of art. I don't care how much you bought or sold one with a really cool "limited edition" cover for. The craft of creating a comic is an art. The -script of a comic is piece of art. An original page of pencils, inks or colors is art. The comic book itself is a collectible, like a beanie baby. Heck, creating the designs for beanie babies is an art too. The result is a collectible.
  11. I say none of them...it's just what every hobby needs, more manufactured collectibles! Might as well be limited edition beanie babies. Some the covers look alright, but nothing like the prices some go for. Rarity should never be "manufactured", which is fake. Don't listen to the hype, especially when the hype comes from the same guys trying to sell that $#!^ to you.
  12. This was such a great series. Wasn't there talk of a possible movie or TV series a few years ago? This story would be much better than a lot of the schlock Hollywood has been putting out. Maybe people are just tired of vampires with zombies being all the rage lately?
  13. Negan is a nut doing that to the doc. That bit of writing was near unbelievable. Any doctor in a zombie apocalypse would have incalculable value. I know he said they had another doc, but having 2 would give a huge advantage over any community. What happens if the remaining doc dies? People in WD die all the time...That was a very expensive point he made. Not great writing there. Overall, I thought it was a very good episode though.
