  1. A suggestion, you might want to organize the for sale art in multiple folders...
  2. Here's one that is right in the crosshairs for this thread - I think!
  3. Purchased a long sought after Atlas book! Smooth communication and deal - and shipment was really fast! Thanks!
  4. I've posted this before but my clear favorite 'back of page' find - Everett on Captain America, from a Colan / Everett Cap 136 page bought from Gene at SDCC in 2004 I have a back of pages CAF folder, although this one is not in it actually, http://cafurl.com?i=25001 Keep them coming!
  5. I'll do two - some are tougher than others but these weren't so hard 1. Finlay - I have several Finlays but the Twilight Zone is my favorite 2. I am a big Everett fan and have quite a few pages but the #1 is clear - most I've spent for a piece of art - and I bought it in 2006 so I likely overpaid but never regretted it - Subby 57 Cover CAF = http://cafurl.com?i=23828
  6. I am an Everett guy - still need a 4 but prefer 5 - 7
  7. But...there is no 'Male Bumshot' in my CAF pulldown?
  8. Overall, prices felt strong - and a few like the Buscema Conan splash, very strong...I mean, I have seen covers for a lot less not long ago The FF95 cover is a bit of a puzzle but simply doesn't grab me, may be a smart buy as eventually we'll all be dead and it simply will be a nice FF Kirby cover!
  9. This is good advice but how do we provide it without giving 'cover' for low integrity people that renege on deals - this is not acceptable behavior - but agree it happens. In the end, learning your market segment is crucial to paying the 'right' price without regrets - recently, selling has been hard not to regret
  10. So I got my Heritage catalogs from this week's auction - they left out the Platinum section one I guess I haven't been spending enough P.S. There was an ad for the auction in the LA Times a few days back - had the FF95 cover in B&W
  11. 'later becomes mockingbird'...looking for pages from this Ka-Zar story!
  12. Looking for the original art from the BWS Kazar story in issue 6...
  13. Just added the below to my CAF, an insufficient remembrance but the link below is to this folder in my CAF that has 6 pages of 1970s FF with Sinnott inks http://cafurl.com?i=24875 In all, my CAF has just under 2 dozen pages with Sinnott inks...and on CAF overall there are over 2,000 so head down memory lane!
  14. I haven't seen hardly any Everett signatures outside of on his original art - so I'd say rare
  15. There are a handful - here is one...
  16. Can someone run a poll on who thinks the buyers premium is not part of the cost of the book - I'd be surprised if more than a small percentage don't feel these fees are part of the price of the book
  17. Hello Community, What do you do to ensure you want have issues when working with unfamiliar international buyers? This is not a time payment situation (not sure that matters) on a low 4 figure sale 1. Does taking PP F&F make this riskier? 2. Does it help you feel better when they have a populated CAF? (It does for me) 3. Any known people I should avoid - in this case from Italy? Thanks! Mark
  18. I thought the con is very well done - in the early going, the site went down for a few minutes for me - but overall very smooth and I even felt a bit of that con pressure not to miss that perfect page - probably because I went through the booths once before I found the search function - that makes it less con like actually but easier. I didn't realize that 3 pieces would be selected to be displayed but makes sense after seeing the user experience. The time difference with Europe makes negotiation slow and awkward when multiple folk are after a deal on the same piece - but I'll see how that plays out to see what I end up selling. On payment, I marked sold with email commit - not waiting for payment. Perhaps, there should be an "On Hold" selection in addition to Sold? On buying side, I got 2 pages that fit in my galleries nicely so that was cool With Sales tax, the transaction costs are getting quite high so we should be able to do deals privately on most art...
  19. ComicLink explained this - helpful for me in the future so sharing.... I saw your Board post. What happened with the bid on the My Greatest Adv 80 is: You were high bidder at $850 when you bid $859. When you raised your bid to $911, it raised your max, but that doesn't raise the actual bid amount on the book - it stays at $850 because you can't outbid yourself. Other bidders still see $850 as the current bid. So, somebody bid $913 and won it for $2 more than your max of $911. I hope that clarifies it. Sorry you didn't win the book. Let me know if you still have questions about it - and thanks for bidding.
