  1. No spine roll...I got it in trade - can't find the email comms but I think it was represented as a 7.0
  2. Hello All, Ok - my pics aren't the best but at least I took the book out of the mylar for the later pics...what do folk think the grade on this ASM 10 that I received in trade from Metropolis maybe 20 years ago is? Staples are clean, there is some general spine wear - some pics have obvious shadow from my poor photography Thanks in advance!
  3. Off the top of my head, Subby and Torch was the first cross-over in MMC 8 - 10... Everett was one of the creators of that storyline...not sure how often Everett drew the Torch vs. Burgos though
  4. Picked up a slabbed Atlas Everett cover - smooth transaction, shipped well packed and promptly - always after Everett!
  5. Agree - quite entertaining, the analysis and the banter.
  6. Clearer shot but still tough - It's not twice up so I doubt Shuster...
  7. Looking to add any pages from this BWS / Everett collaboration, the Ka-zar story from Astonishing Tales 6 - I am getting close to completing it so you can be sure the art will be well planted! Outside of the splash, here is the most dramatic page that I just posted in my CAF To check out the first few pages, follow the link to my CAF Folder: http://cafurl.com?i=25483
  8. Was a great event - and the improvements were all excellent It would be nice if exhibitors could add pieces Saturday night for Sunday sales but not a priority I shipped out 8 packages last week and I bought a handful of pieces as well - 2 pieces arrived already. Also, I sold a page after the event closed from a conversation that started during the Con so sales enabled likely understated Mark
  9. I am not sure why the Everett Subby 54 p2 was in the 'cheap' day - my internet went a bit wonky but I saw the winner place a high 'shock' bid and it was gone in seconds. I have the page after and had this one on my want list for many years so I was excited to bid...but the shock and awe technique worked - $16.2K with the BP
  10. Two come to mind... If you watch No Way Out (1987), there is a scene where Kevin Costner visits Iman's apartment (may have it backwards)...in any case, in that scene there is Barry Windsor Smith art from the Cygnus portfolio on the wall - not strictly comic art...BWS also did the art for a 1973 re-issue of The Byrds Preflyte Album
  11. I was comics first, then both, then primarily art, and now back to both but generally spend more on art and art purchases are more carefully considered - whereas comics provide more opportunities for impulse buys. I do agree slabs take up a lot of room but I buy both slabs and raw.
  12. We are both right - Kubert Layouts / Redondo Finishes...like Rima...gorgeous!
  13. It is not just you peer group - the number of people that are aware of this hobby / obsession is very small - although perhaps the Lucas museum may add a bit more awareness in my geo at least
  14. I went to that event as well - Mike T was there also...thought it was funny / ironic that there was a panel and a Kirby inker was in the audience
  15. On the original topic, there are some artists I've always wanted but don't have represented after decades of collecting - while I am patient, I still would like a piece by them
  16. When will BB use technology to call balls and strikes? I have some old BB cards from 1974 or so - have them in those binder pocket pages - in the back of a notebook with comics!
  17. Agree that it could be either woman but disagree that we would assume it is Belit - only reason to assume that is that it is on the CGC label. The woman looks like Valeria, why would it be Belit? Why would we assume that the first name in the caption box refers to the picture when the second name is actually closer to the picture? In any case, people largely agree that IH 181 is the first app of Wolverine even though IH 180 has a very clear shot large shot of Wolverine with no doubt - how is Conan 58 not the first appearance of Belit if IH 181 is the 1st Wolverine?
