  1. 238 has a cover date of Mar ‘83, while 300 is cover dated May ‘88 so I wouldn’t consider the 238 as “much earlier” than the 300. secondly, Demand for ASM 300 far exceeds that of 238 and will continue to do so. in terms of the Hulk 181 of the Copper Age from the big two, it’s ASM 300 over 238, by far
  2. GPA updates aren’t instantaneous upon payment, but they are very quick. I haven’t seen or used go collect so I can’t compare the two services
  3. Would love to hear you guys provide insights and estimates BEFORE a major auction closes
  4. Then it will not appear in GPA and is not a $5K sale.
  5. Auction closing is one thing...but in order for the transaction to be completed, the buyer needs to pay, and then the sale appears on GPA. So for this copy, the buyer has already paid. Hence, its a legit transaction. There has been numerous times when on ebay when a sale wasn't finalized because the seller did not pay. Hence, said transaction would be incomplete/invalid and not appear in GPA.
  6. This one doesn't appear on GPA so the sale hasn't been consummated...yet.
  7. Still hasn't shown up on GPA...wonder if the $5K sale for the news stand 9.8 is legit?
  8. I guess it all depends on what you collect. I collect Bronze and Copper Age Spideys and I’d rather pay $5K for an asm 300 than invest a single, solitary cent into a showcase 4 or Hulk 1.
  9. Took a quick look on ebay for ASM 300 9.8 availability and surprise, surprise, there's only a handful of copies available. The least expensive Universal, direct is priced at $8.9K, with another copy at $9, 988. Sig Series, direct will cost you $9.8K for the cheapest available copy, and then it just gets silly from there. Looks like ebay is no longer your best venue to buy a copy, so I suspect we'll be seeing a runup on Clink, HA, and elsewhere very soon.
  10. Hands down, Vatche Mavlian. https://www.vatchemavlian.com/
  11. Looks like somebody pulled the trigger, but it hasn't shown up on GPA yet so perhaps the seller hasn't been paid...yet?
  12. 1. Adams 2. Grell 3. Kane 4. van Sciver 5. Pollard 6 - on. Nobody comes to mind
  13. there's a 9.8 just listed on ebay for $23K if anyone's interested.
  14. Recent sales show the book starting to move up again for blue universal labels: Latest 9.8 sale = $5K Latest 9.6 sale = $2K
  15. Wait a sec...I think I remember this set. Was it offered on ebay for $50K obo?
  16. Me too. I live in Canada, and the Canadian Price Variant for ASM 238 has proven to be particularly elusive in comparison to all of the other CPV's.
  17. Ending tonight...current values for all books are still well below fair market value so don't hesitate to bid...you may get lucky and get a book or two without breaking your wallet!
  18. Just a few days before the auctions close, and most items are have a current bid of less than 1/3 fair market value so there may be a great opportunity for you to pick up some key Bronze and Copper Age books at prices that won't break your wallet.
  19. The way cgc has been grading over the past 12 months+, you’d be lucky to get a 9.8
