  1. HIya, folks: Only consigned two pieces to Heritage this week, but they are pretty sweet. Both auctions end around 7PM Eastern (New York) time Jan 24th. 2. Not just the Spidey-verse, but most of the Marvel-verse…just missing Dr Strange and the X-Men!!! Naturally, I love the last panel
  3. More listed recently... The Cap cover sold for $96K in 2019... Another $100K+ result for this Defenders cover? Miller DD 174 page vs The Hand. What's the over/under on $100K? Aparo B&B cover
  4. Thanks Felix and Dave for a very insightful post-auction wrap up. It isn't often that we have the opportunity to hear from a large consignor regarding final hammer prices on his lots. And this one was particularly interesting given the breadth, and quality of the pieces, across multiple auction days. First and foremost, I wasn't aware that so many lots in this auction were David's. Sure, I knew of a handful of them from Felixs' previous podcast, but I really do wish Heritage would have identified all of the items from David's collection, at the very least for reference sake. As many others have noted, I certainly thought the Byrne X-Men 137 page underperformed, while the Miller DD 181 page exceeded expectations, or so I thought, until I heard David discuss his take on the piece. Re: The Bachalo Death piece...my pre-auction estimate was exactly in line with David's...it went for one incremental bid ($5K) higher. I don't want to give away any more information because I think folks should really listen to the conversation for themselves, but in my own selfish way, I would certainly love to see as many pieces as possible turn up for auction from David's collection.

  6. I like both Lim and Perez equally with regard to their artwork and I don't have any stake regarding which artists' work on IG should fetch more attention/money. Its been roughly 30 years since IG was published, and I remember it was a huge event. People were talking about it at their LCS, at conventions, at store signings, etc. So I'm certain that folks here remember that it was a big deal. Given the passage of time, memories tend to fade and some folks may have forgotten that there was a huge build-up to Infinity Gauntlet, starting with the return of Starlin to Marvel on Silver Surfer and its epic storyline whereby we see the return of Thanos, Drax, Gamora, Pip, Warlock, etc, all the way to the two-part Thanos Quest, which set the stage for Infinity Gauntlet. Starlin's artistic collaborator throughout his return on Silver Surfer and Thanos Quest was none other than Ron Lim. He was integral in the success of illustrating Starlin's vision for the return of the 'Cosmic Gang' in addition to a rather seemless transition on IG when George had to leave. Long story short, I feel that Ron Lim sometimes doesn't receive the credit due for contributing to the success of Starlin's cosmic opera, and is often overlooked as such, but I still remember it well
