  1. Hopefully, there will be some affordable OA at tomorrow’s auction 🤞🏻
  2. Not as crazy a price for a recreation as you may think. back in 2011, Romita Sr’s recreation of asm 100 sold on HA. It was 13.5x20 and sold for over $77K.
  3. I agree. What do you think the ASM 1 should have sold for?
  4. As much as I love AF15, at these price points I can see a lot of potential buyers being priced out of the market and purchasing ASM1 instead.
  5. ASM 14 has been undervalued for far too long. Nice to see it getting some love over the past few years.
  6. Totally get that. For me its AF 15, Tec 27, followed by AC1. Honorable mention to Cap1
  7. If this afternoon's HA comic auction prices are any foresight into the upcoming OA lots, then everyone had better hang onto their hats, call their brokers to liquidate funds, and get ready to grit your teeth and MANNUP!
  8. I totally get that. But I'm just happy that a book based on a characters enduring popularity has super ceded the 'historical 1st superhero' book
  9. Spidey takes his rightful spot atop the comic hierarchy, kicking gramps Superman off the hill (at least, temporarily).
  10. Most folks consider classic JK to be late 50's - late 60's, and I agree with them. I am not a Kirby fan by any stretch of the imagination, but by the time he did this issue of What If?, he was well past his prime...and it shows!
  11. I like the concept, but the art is crude and hideous.
  12. I'm looking at the auction a bit differently and thinking the biggest surprise is the Kirby FF cover not cracking $500K.
  13. Mentioned some of the sales results to fellow collectors, and they had completely forgotten about the lots closing today. I know the Sandman promo would have gone for more if one of the guys remembered to bid on it. Still, as strong as the OA prices seemed to be, the comic book prices were insane...$150K for an Xmen 1 in 8.5 is
  14. Finally starting to see some activity on the OA lots. Should see heated price escalations during live bidding all three days
  15. The $41K copy that sold on HA was from the Oregon Coast collection so unless your copy was from a notable collection, its not a just comparison. Only one month prior to the $41K and $55K sales, HA sold a 9.8 with white pages for $33.6K , and Clink sold similar for $33K the same week. Those are probably your closest comps. But yes, this book has taken a significant drop recently, as most Bronze and Copper keys, semi-keys, minor keys (whatever label you wish to apply) have done.
