  1. Thanks again for everyone's input and information. I'm fascinated by the concept of the Xmen 158/ROM 31 POV story and I think its time to inform Overstreet and CGC about it, and the tie for 2nd Rogue appearance! Well done, all

  3. Right, but what I meant was which specific week each of the books was released. That info may help to confirm which of the books may have been released a week or two before the other, thus confirming which one is her actual 2nd appearance. I think we were fortunate to obtain this sort of info with Spidey 252/PPTSS 90/MTU 141 to firmly established ASM 252 as the 1st app of the black Spidey costume.
  4. If we only knew the release dates of X-men 158 and ROM 31. It would be curious if both were released the same week.
  5. Thanks to all who responded. I meant to say ROM 31, but I typed 32 in error.
  6. HI, folks; Rogue's 1st appearance (along with that of Madelyne Pryor) is Avengers Annual #10, but I was just wondering what book contain's Rogue's 2nd appearance? I was thinking perhaps its ROM #32? Any help would be appreciated
  7. Dan was a liar and a thief and belonged in prison.
  8. ASM 194 has been on the rise for several years, and as with many other 1st appearance books, has benefitted from accelerated price increases due in part to rampant covid buying, and rumours of a movie and/or tv appearance. Numerous 1st appearances of likewise minor characters have seen similar percentage increase in value over the past 1-2 years.

  10. Page sold on clink, so no 'juice' included in final price of $72K
  11. I used to have a six-pack, but that's long gone, too!
  12. I would respond with a yes and no. I suspect those same three are still practicing shady business methods, however, I believe the cabal of manipulators has increased beyond those three guys. Only now, its become far more blatant as more people are watching their actions.
  13. Congrats on your 9.6. From what I can see, I think its a very nice example of the book. The early days of CGC grading were certainly erratic, to say the least. I remember submitting an unread copy of GK Scooby Doo #1 in absolutely perfect condition for grading, only to be shocked that it was graded an 8.5. My LCS was well versed in cracking and re-submitting and I got to witness him remove the book perfectly out of its casing and packed incredibly well for re-grading.(this event pre-dated pressing by over a decade) Book came back a 9.2, but with a brand new 1/4 inch tear on the back cover. Conversely, I submitted Silver Age ASM's expecting a 9.2 and received 9.4-9.8, likewise, I submitted a perfect Wonder Woman #200 (classic Jeff Jones bondage cover) only to receive a 9.4. I think their grading is tighter, and more consistent over the past 1.5 years than it was during the early days so if you want to crack and re-submit, its really a toss up. Whatever your decision, good luck
  14. That’s why Xatari prefaced his post with “In general…” but I agree with him. Generally weaker than expected results, with a few exceptions.
  15. Buzz, this is nothing new… I remember this happening among 3 prominent OA dealers back when I started collecting OA approximately 20 years ago.
  16. This is a very quiet auction thus far. I suppose in part to the dog days of summer, but I can only imagine the rabid bidding frenzy set to occur during the live auction, with so much quality material at play. and the November preview is already shaping up to be another stellar auction 🥳
  17. I dunno. I thought Dark Knight was…OK. I think you’d see quite a few votes for Miller’s RONIN, maybe Byrne’s Superman, Man of Steel?
  18. I like Ditko, but who is this Kirty fella you speak of? 😂
