  1. Got two wonderful deliveries from GarryM over the past few weeks. I now have a great start to my Avengers 1-100 run. (thumbs u A few weeks ago I received a complete run of Hawk & Dove comics in nice condition. Yesterday I received his 46 book Avengers run issues 11-96 , a lovely Spectre full run plus a few showcase titles. Kudos to you GarryM... Especially for the break in communication while we both suffered computer problems. Thanks, Russ...
  2. There have been 2 come copies up at Heritage over the last few years. The first was listed as signed by Jack Kirby & the seond was not. Imagine how I felt when it turned up & I was expecting it to be without any signatures & finding it actually has both pieces signed by the great man Russ...
  3. I thought that I would post a few updated pics of our Dining room / Kitchen area. I have shown the Avengers Litho previously but the signed Kirby drawn Captain America art is new. Kristy is great. She lets me fly the geek flag with some pride. I have been told that this is enough for most of the house however.
  4. Big thanks to ASM Completist for the set of 24 New Yor Post Amazing Spidey's They arrived in Australia promptly and without a scratch. All shipped via Airmail with a total shipping cost of only $12 Thanks very much. Russ...
  5. I have a vacant piece of wall space in my computer/comic room that was looking very dull & boring. Found some cheap picture frames at the local Big-W and fired up Photoshop to re-size some scans of my books. This is the result so far. Russ...
  6. Hey Chromium. I don't think that we are owed anything in the way of free shipping but the confusion remains that some great boardies do offer it from time to time. Other state it but don't really mean it. An example would be if I had an e-bay auction and stated $10 shipping. Would I be entitled to ask for 4 times that if someone outside my local area purchased the book. I think that I should be accountable for stating the facts. I have been in a fortunate position where shipping has been included or the shipping cost is split 50/50. The problem is that sometimes you need to jump on a sale and if it says free shipping should you then have to ask if it includes you. Its a bit like the pressing debate. Should you need to ask or should you be told up front. I dont think that a description on shipping is such a big ask
  7. I understand your point but even the part of your response stating "most of the time" indicated that their is some level of confusion. Here is a hypothetical. Many people on the boards do not have detail in the location descriptor below the avatar. Lets say I remove it from my avatar area. I have a lot of books that I sell at the next VCC indicating free shipping. You want these books and jump in early with the icon. A few day later after the VCC i send you a paypal invoice including an extra $50 airmail shipping for a few dozen books. How do you feel about this? Again this is hypothetical and many of you have the blessing of never having to deal with this issue. I am trying to raise some awareness as it may help to prevent a few peoblems going forward. 8. One of my pet Peeves on the E-bay & the boards is the generic use of the "Free Shipping" heading. This is quite frustrating in that I have purchased from a few people on the boards who advertise free shipping and all goes well and other times it opens a can of worms. An example was when I purchased a group of about 20 Daredevil books from Nik (Flaming Telepath). He said spent $100 and get them shipped. No problems, shipping was included in the purchase price. Then I see other offers on the boards that indicate free shipping and again all looks great. Only to find that the seller really means free local shipping but its full price if you live in another country. I understand that the cost of airmail shipping can be quite high and it eats into money being made by the seller and no-one want to take a bath on price. I just wish that people would "say what they mean & mean what they say" a little more often. How hard is it to write "free local shipping" or "free worldwide shipping" in our adverts. This is after all a worldwide chat forum that does cross coastal boundaries from time to time. Thoughts Russ...
  9. One more. Not sure how popular this tiltle was. I love it as they often performed missions based around the north of Australia. Nice Sgt fury cross over as well.
  10. Hi Brad. In all honesty I would keep my Green River copy over the Pacific Coast copy every time.... Truth be told. If it was not for the small non color breaking crease in the top right corner (1\4 inch long) and some very minor corner blunting it could be a possible CGC9.8 But thats how the book is and thats how it will stay. Crease and all. No cosmetic surgery for this little beauty. Russ...
  11. I just Love this Bethlehem Book. Dust shadow & all Again, It just turned up in the mail today.
  12. Finally turned up in the mail today. Pacific Coast Book.
  13. Deathlok; Totally hilarious as after 20,000+ posts, you get all excited over a 9.2 Iron Man #1, and yet don't know what a high grade All-American #16 or an Adventure #40 is. Makes as much sense as a newbie collector rushing in and trampling over 9.6 copies of Fantastic Four #1 or Journey into Mystery #83 so they can get their hands on the 9.2 copy of Spawn #1 or Ultimate Spidey #1.
  14. Kudo's to Artboy99 (Karl) In a deal that almost stretched almost 1 year involving a lot of communications back & forth Karl & I finally closed the deal on a book that I have wanted for quite some time. I would like to thank Karl for his patience and time in working with me on a book that he could have sold elsewhere at almost any time. Now I just need to have it re-holdered as the airmail journey from Canada to Australia caused a nice big crack in the case. Fortunately no damage to the book or inner well. Thanks mate. Russ... IronMan #1 CGC 9.2 Western Penn
  15. Hey Marc. No kissing but here's the link The mug-shot
  16. A big kudos to JonJesper for bomb proof shipping of the signed Avengers 30th ann Lithograph to Australia. Just got it back from the picture framers a few days ago. Its huge. Measures over 4ft X 3ft in size. Kristy has even agreed to let it be hung in the Kitchen/Dining room. Thanks again. Russ...
  17. Big thanks to Whomerjay for helping me fill some holes in my TTA & TOS wantlist. Accurate grading and super fast shipping. Thanks Ray. Regards, Russ..

  21. Someone must have thought that this was CGC 9.8 worthy. It was already in a new holder as a 9.6 before it was resubbed.
