  1. The Kenyan shilling replaced the East African shilling in 1966 at par (from wiki). So it looks like you've got one of each, the 1/- being the older and the 1.20 (1 shilling 20 cents) being the later. The Thorpe and Porter rubber price stamps for the UK are the ones we are all familiar with although I did see some comics with an Eire price stamp a few years ago.
  2. Great looking comics. I am in awe of those X-Men. Did you buy them raw and have them slabbed or did you buy them already encapsulated? All my X-Men comics were bought as raw ( at Leeds comic mart in the 90s) and sent off for grading just recently. High grade pence are very difficult to find. As to buying online well I have sometimes bought up to four "NM" copies of an issue just to get one that was VF. (Where's that wry smile emoticon when you need it)?
  3. Are you planning to publish all your pence data? That is one book I would buy, in print or electronically. I don't expect a reply soon, get your personal stuff sorted. Regards. Stephen.
  4. Thank you. UK news-stand variants are incredibly difficult to find in high grade. As well as the usual distributor/wholesale/retail handling they also had to survive a four to six weeks sea journey from the US.
  5. I don't really want to upset anyone and I don't really know how to navigate around the posts so I am going to sign out and delete my membership to this forum.
  6. Thanks for the advice. I'm new here and any advice is welcome. I did not know this was not allowed, over at the other board CGC pics ARE allowed. I wouldn't even begin to know how to delete the photos. I'm an oldie and not too tech savvy. It took me ages with trial and error to figure out how to post them in the first place. Cheers Adamantium. PS. Could the mods guide me here? Thanks.
  7. Here are my graded pence copies. Does anyone have the same trouble with their scanner that I have? Sometimes it scans the slab as a whole, missing off the bottom, and sometimes it scan as two separate items the comic cover and the grade label. I have tried moving the slabs up, down and sideways but to no avail, the scanner does what it wants.
  8. Hello. What a great quest you are on. Is it possible to access those charts and photos? I am currently trying to put together a graded collection of pence copies of (Uncanny) X-Men from 141 downwards (142 and 143 being ND as you know) as far as I can afford. I have 141 (9.0), 140 (9.4), 139 (9,0), 138 (9.0), (137 ND), 136 (9.0), 135 (9.4), 134 (9.0), 133 (9.2), (132 Missing), 131 (8.5), 130 (9.6) , (129 Missing) ,128 (8.0) ,127 (9.2) ,126 (9.4), 125 (8.0), 124 (8.0), 123 (9.4), (121 and 122 ND), 120 (9.2), 119 (9.6), 118 (9.6), 117 (9.4), 116.(9.6), 115 (9,4), 114 (9.0), 113 (9.2), 112 (9.4) (111 Missing) 110 (9.4) and 99 (8.0) and 64 (7.5). The search continues for the inbetweens ( whichever they may be). Regards.
