  1. Per PM I just bought another lower grade copy, but it seems like the kind of book I “need” two of 😊
  2. I would look into Conservation (light Restoration which doesn’t receive the purple label when graded) I am having a cover reattached right now, plus staples cleaned, on a GA book which will then grade out as Conserved (rather than Restored). I believe the timeline is faster versus extensive Resto.
  3. Just wait til you discover Doll Man! ...the longer you hunt GA books, the more esoteric your tastes become 😉
  4. One "mystery" to me... If Okajima herself signed her name, why is it sometimes spelled "Okagima" and other times "Okajima"? Yet the signatures all appear to be in the same handwriting. If the person signing the books were actually selling the books to Okajima, why wouldn't that person consistently spell her name right? And why would that person "code" her books?
  5. I was hoping this 1943 Okajima book would go under the radar, as the bid price was quite low when it entered the live auction. It didn't end up going totally under the radar, as the price escalated quickly in the live auction, but I'm still happy with the purchase. I have several 1944 Okajima books, but this is the earliest by a significant margin. No camp codings, but a signature. ... Would 1943 be considered a "camp book" or a "camp era book"? Am I correct that some of the other camp books lack the codings as well (especially the earlier ones)?
  6. that’s awesome. Can I ask the year & publisher?
  7. I came across this comic randomly in a GA bin... now I’m curious what others like it got published! (The inside back cover advertises some other Catholic-related comics) if you have any others, please post em!
  8. Thanks for the heads up. I couldn't resist... I jumped on it. Looked too nice for the grade (plus WHITE pages )
  9. Wow! Thanks for the lead... I will message him on Facebook.
  10. I'm wondering if anyone knows where any of the art is located, from the 1989 graphic novel, The Amazing Spider-Man "Parallel Lives". Cover, interior art, anything...
  11. The AH seemed steep to me, too. I am a Cho collector, and I agree that this piece’s result likely doesn’t portend a market trend.
  12. It doesn't look like any of the post-camp books I have. Mine are all marked "vertically" with the distributor marks. I'm not an expert though.
  13. I just bought this from Rick. Another Okajima Camp book that looks like "Okagima" in the signature.
  14. I took a chance on the Master Comics (marked as a camp book). We will see how CGC grades it.
  15. I *think*, if I am remembering correctly, I’ve come across another Okajima where the ‘j’ looks like a ‘g’. Not certain though.
  16. I didn’t realize there were fake Okajimas potentially floating around, have they ever appeared previously?
  17. That’s what I was wondering. Although the other book looked more like the normal handwriting.
