  1. My OCD kicks in when I see a good price on a book I own, but have the compulsion to buy it anyway, because I really like THAT book and it's only $1 or $5 or $10. This would be reasonable if I intended to sell it later, but I NEVER sell. USUALLY I put it in my buy stack and before I check out I sort through and it gets weeded out to be put back...but being a collector that is not ALWAYS the case. Alpha Flight #1 and reader copies of Dark Knight come to mind as I type.

"Hi, my name is Steve and I'm a collector, it's been 7 days since I bought a comic that I already own."

    "Hi Steve."

  2. There are several collector/dealers that set up there in addition to the regular big name dealers. I would go just to look at the art if nothing else. You'll see about 1/3 more art than dealers post online and a the price range is nice.. some smaller budget friendly pieces are scattered in with the high dollar ones. I've seen coin flipping for art discounts (see Felix's Scott Dunbier's interview - it was the inspiration). And you get to meet so many of the hobby's personalities who are as excited about the art as you, what's not to love?!?. I've been wanting to go back the moment I left.

Oh yeah.... there was about an hour left in the show when I was asking about a collector and someone said "he's set up selling art in the other room."

"THE OTHER ROOM... Where's that?!?" Sure enough there were about 8 more guys set up in a room around the corner from the main room!

  3. Gotta love podcast drop day! Listened to it twice already, another great one. From these podcasts, it seems that there are a lot of good guys in the hobby, thanks to Felix for introducing us to them.

On that note, this weekend I went down to Fan Expo in Dallas to see my art hero John Byrne. While there I had to the opportunity to chat for quite a while with Albert Moy and to a lesser extent Scott Williams (because of his long lines), both were supper nice and they shared a few fun stories. Add them to Gene Park and Dan Pottick (brief conversations at Comic Art Con NJ 2 years back, brief because of there was SO much art to see) and I have to say all were a treat to talk with and wouldn't have met any of them if it wasn't for Felix... thanks!
