  1. There are still vast segments of the vintage market (pre 1980 or so) of non hg non keys that are very affordable.
  2. Punisher was really dead once upon a time. Anyway, some folks are acting like WWBN 32 is Eternals 1 or some other recently evolved from the dollar box book. It has been spensive for a long while at this point.
  3. Real estate gains are tax free here (for your primary residence) up to $250K for singles/$500k for couples. Comic gains not so much. The S&P 500 has more than tripled (quadrupled?) since it tanked in 2008/9. Obviously a 750% return is great over 10 years, but that 200% return has been matched in many places.
  4. Not cosmic. The other ghost rider gets wheeled out, cancelled, wheeled out later, etc. Ditto Luke cage.not saying these prices on 32 are justified, just not unheard of on these early/mid 70s 1st apps.
  5. Not always. We have lulls in punisher publication too. How about ghost rider?
  6. Swamp thing gets cancelled regularly and we still like HOS 92... My point is that it got dumb expensive a while ago, now it's just stupid expensive.
  7. Come to think of it, don't punisher books get cancelled too?
  8. Swamp thing gets cancelled regularly and we still like HOS 92... My point is that it got dumb expensive a while ago, now it's just stupid expensive.
  9. It is a book that has been going up for like 15 years though.
  10. Sorry for the loss of your friend. Please tell me he enjoyed a solid 10-15+++ years of retirement.
  11. The print was huge by today's standards, but most probably got returned from the newsstand. Did the copies get pulled or saved?
  12. One word: mamoa! They cast it right. I didn't think it was so great, but not jla bad or anything.
  13. $7 million. Ridiculous. In 1999. That got you 7 shares of dog poop.com then.
  14. Frankly I am not into spideyman as shield agent or junior avenger, so him doing solo stuff vs. His usual baddies without Nick fury yelling at him is fine. The "avengers" are caput right now anyway. Mind you, spidey interacting with some of the mcu NYC Netflix folks would make sense.
  15. I am fine selling books I pay nothing for at $5. With that said it never takes me 2 minutes to scan, list, pack, and mail a book. Always more. Realistically, probably 5-8 minutes when I am working efficiently.
  16. I think there is a different perception for 182-181 vs. 158-181. Yes, 181 was a spec book, but is special. 181 afterward everyone started to speculate on the miller books, even more than before. I have sold nice copies for $5-8 with some waiting, but cracked double digits on earlier than 181 (and sold 181 for $30+). I am way more selective (shooting for nm in a $2 box) on any but the punisher issue after 181 because paying $2 for a potential $5 sale is a hassle outside a bulk sale maybe.
  17. True, I ate a lot then and was muscle, mostly, but did sports 2-4 hours a day.
  18. 72nd street is peak yuppie land, don't worry about anything in areas like that. I used to live there. You'd have to go out of your way to get mugged there. Nyc is the safest decent size city in the country. Times Square puts you in the middle of stuff, but is kind of nuts and crazy to walk around. I hate going there.
  19. A bunch of the shops in Brooklyn closed. Confirm they are open before travel. High rent is killing shops. Joe Koch is in the middle of nowhere, but intetesting and tons of cheap stuff.
  20. As for where to go with kids, I have no idea. As a native I enjoyed the dinos at natural history and the armor and Egyptian stuff at metropolitan museum of art as a kid. You can walk through central park to and from each, check out belvedere castle en route, buy some mushrooms in the meadow? Just kidding.
  21. Agreed. It's the last of the old timely shops. It is 20% the size it used to be after it moved, but he has some interesting stuff and works with you on price if he thinks you actually care about comics and aren't there just for a quick flip. Bring your kids. Last time I was there Roger was doing shots with customers.
  22. He eats a lot. Hyper metabolism and 6 pack abs despite having never done a sit up.
  23. Baby blob is almost 14 and at 5' 9" is a whopping 120 pounds of pure bone, muscle, scinew, and bad attitude. Not following dad's footsteps. I was 5'10 220 at that age. His little brother is a little bull though. So it seems my cell replication is 50/50.
  24. The crazy thing is I think none were better than a 9.4 (unless cgc ignored the bottom left corner blunting that was common), maybe a couple had 9.6 in them.
