  1. I just got 12 feedbacks from 1 buyer and it only upped me 1 feedback? I think.
  2. Anyway, it's nice Sinnott had this gig for the last few decades. I assume it didn't pay much, but if the guy still had it in him to do a strip a day, why not? Probably helped pay his medigap insurance or whatever. And stan lee had been writing it up until its death? 42 years of that strip!
  3. OK, they jumped forward with her powers to Binary level, maybe even took in some of Monica Rambeau/Captain Marvel from the comics. Obviously she isn't going to take on Thanos with just her 1970s super strength, etc. He already gave a pounding to the Hulk and Thor on that level pre-Gauntlet.
  4. Except for Elektra/Black Sky. She's itty bitty, but an Angel of Death.
  5. Her physicality probably helps in the role. I would find it less believable at 5 feet tall. Anyway, she's a terrific actress, those movies work. Anyway, I saw that movie at 7 and did not question her bad arsery for a second.
  6. Folks accept Weaver as a bad arse. Maybe cuz she's 6 feet tall, I dunno.
  7. She's playing a super hero, why wouldn't she kick arse? One scene is her beating the krap out of a skrull impersonating an old lady. She had plenty of fight scenes with a female Kree warrior. The "kicking" wasn't particularly oriented toward men other than most of the adversaries being men. And no, in terms of insults, nothing memorable. She was wise cracking, that's about it, and the kree are somber folks, that's about it. Frankly, I think the Danvers/Rogg mentor/mentee relationship was nice (until they tried to kill eac hother). They were not able to erase all of her humanity via brainwashing.
  8. As someone who actually watched this particular movie, that is not what this movie was about. Not remotely.
  9. If you are a 60/70/80 year old guy who had prostate surgery when you need to go, you need to go. On the street, in a mayo jar, whatever, a public bathroom is likely not close by.
  10. Once went to an ebay sellers house 10 blocks from my office to pick up a GA slab. Middle aged guy, his wife was there putting up with his hobby, offered me coffee. He showed me his collection. I guess he figured if I worked in an office in midtown manhattan I might not butcher his family.
  11. Could have snagged a double signed 6.0 for $900 or so (although who knows where the high bidder would have been willing to go): https://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Spider-Man-50-6-0-SS-CGC-Stan-Lee-Romita-Signed-1st-First-Kingpin/153401788958?hash=item23b7758a1e:g:WNIAAOSwDNRcfJUt These signatures seem to add about $300 to the cost.
  12. Quart size. Big target to aim into. Getting old sucks.
  13. Like I said, while maybe purely anecdotal, my theatre had a lot of women with their daughters. True, I think some of them were Marvel movie regulars because they stayed all the way to the post credit scene (which we were all a little disappointed with)
  14. Bring a mayonnaise jar with you. That's what my father started doing in his 60s. Was never without a mayo jar.
  15. I'm a middle aged man. I just can't hold a quart of soda in like I used to. I stay away from liquid pre-movie nowadays. As I am not eating salty popcorn anymore, I am ok with that.
  16. Mile High Comics has nearly 200,000 feedback. Koch is over 70.000. I think if you leave 12 feedbacks that doesn't count as 12? I forget. But if you leave feedback for different group purchases months apart, does it count as 2? If MH's figure represents 200,000 custoers, that may give a sense. What I can't remember if years ago when you left 12 feedback it counted as 12.
  17. But this really wasn't. The "just a girl" stuff was really just background noise. It may have been marketed as such to expand the audience, but the movie was a typical action movie with a little bit of Samuel L. Jackson/Skrull dude comedy (I enjoyed both these parts)
  18. "Ps people also said Black Panther was a 'fun movie' and I found it vomit inducing." Really? I think it overplayed some stuff, but seriously?
  19. Hey, I would have liked a 3 hour movie that better laid out some of this, particularly because I didn't have a soda or another drink, so I would have been able to last 3 hours. I just don't think the movie was a failure for skimming over some of this. I am sure half the people in the theatre did not have a clue about what was going on back on Hala and what this was about. A little bit more plot development re: the Kree empire was warranted. Maybe they vaguely had some idea about the Kree from GOTG, but that was pretty sparse. They cut out the racial pink/blue Kree issue, which frankly, if they were going to do SJW stuff, would have been an interesting background issue (heck, they could have even done something re: how the pinks have to overcome being looked down on, like women pilots on earth)
  20. Thor had his eye gouged out and has been pretty badly beaten.
  21. I hated TLJ, but not for the Rey/Luke parts. As for her being able to pilot... Her training seems to have been the same as Luke's and he was suddenly the best rebel pilot without having flown an x-wing ever. I guess he is a Marty sue.
  22. Terry Austin does excellent pencils on his own, but mainly the occasional cover. I would guess he just figured 22 pages of pencils is not something he could make a deadline on? I assume pencils pay way better than inking?
  23. Did kylo ren's attempt to probe her brain using the force maybe "awaken" something in her? That was the impression I had, but haven't seen the movie in a while.
  24. The criticism of the movie is mostly political and seems to be based more on a perception of the movie (not the actual movie) and whatever some of the stars said to the press. Frankly, a lot of it smells like "women should know their place" and frankly, I'm not all that liberal. Here in liberal land nyc I am routinely accused of being a conservative and/or an un-woke old white guy (I am old and white and am pretty sleepy)
  25. We have no idea what her background is? For all we know she is the love child of a sith Lord and a Jedi master.
