  1. Some books I've had and just now got to scanning...I don't see these mid 70s DCs often...I'm more than likely talking to myself at this point but enjoy anyway. Luis Dominguez goodness.... :luhv:

    Not at all.

I may not post on the thread much, but I am always looking at the new eye candy posted here.

  2. Depends on what part of Ohio you are in laugh.gif

Conneaut! Definitely a scary place! poke2.gif

Small world... my wife grew up in Kingsville, her grandparents lived in Conneaut!

    Wow!

    That is shocking.

Considering how small town we are around here.

The only thing horrifying around here is the job market (or lack there of)

  3. Just got a nice score on ebay last night

    http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&satitle=330058298210

    Some nice foreign books.

Also got a nice package from Mile High/

Bunch of pence and 'fat diamond' books.

I know a lot of you guys here don't like Chuck and his grading, but for mid to low grade stuff, I think he actually undergrades.

And where else can I grab 20 comics (14 of which are variants) + 2 Savage Sword mags and get it shipped to my door for less than $25.

Will try to take some pics tonight and get them posted.

If not, will probably be sometime this weekend.

  4. Speaking of foreign comics. Anyone know if the Pence copies had variant prices in the explsion price tags. I notice the price goes from 10 back down to 8 then up to 9 but that could just be from currency variation. This was during the 25 cents to 30 cent increase.

Didn't see a reply to this one.

Were there any variants among the Pence copies?

  5. I have still got about 60-70 different issues of these 35 cent copies and I was hoping on new buyers or more interest. I was figuring some of these folks I didnt recognize were the ones driving up the price. Dont get me wrong, these are neat books and anyone can lok at the CGC census and see that they are obviously very rare. The law of Large numbers will tell you that, or the lack of the large numbers. I still cant figure why the Star Wars 1 is so much more expensive. There are more copies of that book offered than any other variant or so it seems. I am still a novice at this and really shouldnt even try to venture an opinion. I was just lucky to be at the right place/right time to get the variants I have.

As said before, the Star Wars books have the "cross-over collectiblity factor" with the movie fanatics that most of the other variants don't. At least, that's the way I see it.

Plus that particular variant has been in listings for years. So it is more well known.

First I ever heard of price variants was when Mile High started listing that SW #1 variant for stupid money. That just kept going higher and higher.

  6. #1 - The first rule of Price Variant Club is, you do not talk about Price Variant Club.

#2 - The second rule of Price Variant Club is, you DO NOT talk about Price Variant Club.

#3 - If someone says that's one of the last five I need and pleads, you let him have it.

#4 - Nobody ends auctions early.

#5 - No flaming other members of Price Variant Club because they got the Ringo Kid 28 and you didn't.

#6 - Do not alert members of Price Variant Club for hidden variants. Let them find their own damn variants.

#7 - 35 cent variant collectors are insane.

#8 - If you found a variant through Price Variant Club, you have to find another one.

    See rule #7. Yikes.

    Not all of us.

Then again, I don't have any of those yet, just looking for some right now.
