  1. Basically it comes to this...Most popular and important Marvel character = Spiderman so get AF15. (Silver Grail) Second slot goes to.....Wolverine nuff said. So get IH181. (Bronze Grail) So who cares how high it places hypothetically in Silver Age, Wolverine IS the second most popular and arguably second most important Marvel character of all time.
  2. So what happens now? Since your 5k bid was in error so the book is sold for the price of $2,701?
  3. When you say the sale will not complete meaning that the winning bidder will renege and not pay? If so does this happen often, I thought technically the winning bidder is obligated to purchase and the auction house does have the bidder's personal info and/or payment info such as bank account or credit card.
  4. The price difference may also be attributed to the fact that Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #134 is overall more rare vs Forever People's #1 according to CGC census. However, this is the opposite for Hulk 180 vs Hulk 181 with CGC census of around 3k vs 11k total graded respectively.
  5. A cameo/ brief appearance will NEVER be as important or valuable than a first FULL appearance of a important character. Another example would be Amazing Spiderman 299 vs 300. Venom has a FULL page just for his official introduction but #300 will always be much more valuable and sought after.
  6. Since we on the subject of "New" team, wonder how you guys feel about GSX1 vs X-men 94. To me GSX1 overall is a more important book than Xmen 94 but I guess that being more "rare" is the reason that it sits at a higher value by a lot vs GSX1?
  7. Honesty I don't get why all the fuss about pedigree in the first place. A book is a book. I mean it's the exact same book that everyone can buy when it came out in '74...there is no difference from this $59k to any other 9.8 W. This isn't a special edition or one-off that makes it different from any other 181's that came from Marvel's printing press. To be more specific I seen better looking 9.8's without the blemishes of this $59k one. Just because some dude (instead of a nobody like everyone else) bought it make it so special?? This also applies to those funny stickers
  8. More stickers = More money$$$$ Haha that's the professional comic collector's formula...
  9. It's not just IH181 that's moving, it seems anything related to Wolverine is being speculated insanely. Look at Foom #2 (which some believe is Wolverine's first appearance even before IH180 albeit in a "prototype form") is shooting up like crazy in just the past 30 days. Talk about Tulip Mania!
  10. I guess it seems that there is a difference in regards to a high-graded book with vs without Grader's Notes. I mean, if you think about it when looking at any particular CGC graded book, we can only make a judgement based on what we see so if comparing two same graded books that looks virtually identical on the outside then the book that has no Grader's Notes should logically be superior vs the one that has the Notes (because the notes details issues/problems with that particular book so it can only be a negative).
  11. Maybe I wrong, but I don't see a Daredevil #1 club on the boards. He's my all time top 5 fave Marvel character no question. What's not to like about him, he's so relatable... (except for his super keen senses) he has no super strength, no enhanced healing factor, can't fly and he's vulnerable just like the rest of us, heck he gets his a.s.s handed to him many times...but he keeps on truck'n. He's kinda like Marvel's Batman but with built in radar . Matt Murdock deserves his first appearance club.
  12. Finally in, been a James Howlett fan since a kid, and everything X-Men related especially Jim Lee's run.
  13. Would it be too bold of a statement to say having no notes is marginal better vs the same book that has notes then? Unless having no notes might just mean the graders were too lazy or rushed to jot down details to the notes section.
  14. Curious if having or not having Grader's Notes makes a difference to you guys when considering obtaining a book. For example a bronze age key that's graded the same and both have same PQ but one has the notes and the other doesn't is there a preference ?
  15. Sure that applies to the dude that bought the Iron Man# 30 but in the case of IH 181 which I'm referring to the underlying book itself IS significant enough in it's own right regardless of grade therefore if one is lucky enough to getting the highest grade is not on a fool's errand.
  16. So in reality the 9.8’s are the highest grade then?
  17. Around 4K more than gpa’s 90 days avg. not too bad. I tried bidding for it but obviously got outbid
  18. No business selling at that price in the first place. If I remember correctly it doesn't have a 1st appearance or was ever considered a key book.
  19. Yeah my bad, I agree Pedigree would be somewhat a distant 4th.
  20. Seems like some people knows something? Warlock movie is not even confirmed or is it. btw wonder which book would do better in the long run....
  21. Why? Thought Pedigree Comics are very reputable, it's one of the big 3 auction houses.
  22. I'm kinda confused, are you guys talking about photo enhancement or the actual book?
  23. Screened some for sale on eBay I was looking for a nice copy and this is by far the whitest cover but I agree that's if this hasn't been enhanced by some kind of photo software.
