  1. Probably. But put it in front of a lower wage worker whose job depends on productivity and the boss is pushing speed and numbers. Let's see how many times that book leaves as a 9.8 vs 9.4.
  2. It is all speculation at this point. Both are still possibilities. He may have only sent back ones that he messed up the swap to cover his mistakes.
  3. This hasn't been ruled out. It has been speculated that he may have even done this when he started before gaining enough experience and confidence to actually send them back to CGC.
  4. As others have stated . The case can be really smashed / cracked split in half or entirely missing as long as label and inner well are intact. However to do it the number of times he did it would have to be more consistent. Using the example video everyone keeps referring to where they crack a case and that 1 corner is noticeably damaged. If he were to do that to say 5-10 books that he swapped it would look like the whole submission was damaged in transit and qualify for ME reholder.
  5. Personally I don't think it was looked at as possible tamper. I believe most of these were slid in under the guise of a damaged holder for ME / Reholder. And by sending them in that way got the quick path to a speed cursory check that label and inner well appears intact and straight to the new label and encapsulating stage. Which is what a lot of members here have stated a few times in this thread.
  6. This is the real question. Everyone keeps speculating that it is just so easy to do and be undetectable. I , for one have doubts it would not be noticeable. I am still waiting for someone to post a video and pictures/ scans of books they have done this to that would be hard to tell that they were swapped.
  7. I would like to see a video of you doing this and pictures of the books before and after.
  8. https://youtu.be/FILzt4eFW8s?si=NLxfoHkTzSVutZuD Feel the same way about that as I do this whole fiasco.
  9. Agreed. As was mentioned pages ago, sure a lot of this has happened as CGC really wasn't prepared to scale to demand. No excuses. They just could and have not been able to handle their business effectively. Years ago they blamed it on CON season. Then surges from price increases/ etc . Instead of sticking to their process and values they tried to speed up the process and spot check items. Which has led us to where we are now.
  10. So far board detectives have discovered in addition to those it appears that several Hulk 181s of various defects missing MVS missing pages etc [Green Label ] books were swapped into [Blue Label ] higher grade slabs and also reholdered. Leaving those original blue label books to be resubmitted. So far it is undetermined the scope of how many books .
  11. While I agree that so far no one has posted a video of cracking out a case that doesn't appear to be tampered with, the real issue with most of this isn't that they needed to look completely unmolested. 1 cracked corner or broken side would still resemble shipping /etc damage and allow a book to be resubmitted for ME or reholder. Which is what is believed to be this specific scammers MO.
