  1. The credit does not appear on your submission but is automatically deducted and will reflect on the receipt they email you after your submission is processed. (Assuming it's a "normal" submission, not a signing where credits do not apply)
  2. So that's my confusion I guess. In your example is the book graded without regard to the writing on the first page? Or is the writing considered a "flaw" brining this book down from 10 to 9.8? And where is the line or distinction between receiving a universal blue label vs. a qualified green label?
  3. If you're looking to collect, not sell, then Ebay is just fine. Plenty of buyer protections in place. If you by a book that arrives not matching the pictures/description, you're protected. I will say descriptions can get a little sketchy, but if you thoroughly read what you're buying you have nothing to worry about. Regarding slabbed vs. raw for collecting, that's really all on you and comes down to your preference. Do you want to read and/or examine your books? Go raw. If you want to know for sure a book is a certain grade and admire it in all of its slabbed glory, go for slabbed. If your goal is to flip books for profit, that's a way more in depth and complex discussion.
  4. With the writing on the interior, not on the cover, it would still recieve a qualified (green) label and not a universal (blue) label with a "name written in pen on first page" notation?
  5. Wondering what an otherwise 9.8 book would grade as with one name in pen on a single page of the interior of the book? To be clear, book grades 9.8 without the writing on the single page of the interior. Is it automatically "xx" (9.0, 9.2, 9.4) or would it vary?
  6. John G: If all your books are the same tier on the same submission/invoice, one packing list is fine. If you have multiple tiers or submissions in one package, you would want one packing list for each tier or submission/invoice.
  7. If the book isn't incredibly high value I've had success with Gemini mailers. I use the same packing premise though, layers: cardboard slightly larger than the book, bagged/boarded book taped to cardboard with painters tape, another piece of cardboard, tape it closed with painters tape, then place in the Gemini mailer.
  8. My recent experience: Modern books delivered 01/12/21 received in CGC's system 01/25/21. Book for in house signing delivered 01/22/21 received in CGC's system 01/25/21.
  9. Another example would be in house signings, they will have specific instructions to write initials on all sides of your package.
  10. An update for anyone else wondering, modern books delivered 01/12/21 received in CGC's system 01/25/21. Book for in house signing delivered 01/22/21 received in CGC's system 01/25/21. (And I probably should have posted this in the "ask CGC" thread, sorry!)
  11. What is the current turn time from submissions delivered to CGC, to showing as "received" by CGC? Going on over 10 days here...
