    This is my one and only sig series book, purchased recently from a fellow boardie. I have wanted a Romita Sr. sig for a long time and this one is somewhat significant to me since it’s the second ASM I ever bought off the rack. Has there ever been a better sig placement than this?

    Issue 20 was the oldest 12 cent issue in my childhood ASM collection (only Annual 1 was older) so it has always been special to me. Regrettably, I sold that 48 issue collection to a friend for the princely sum of 5 bucks back in 1970. Hey, it was a pretty good deal at the time!

    Where would TTA 27 have ranked before the movies? I don’t get the current lofty status of that book. I mean isn’t Ant-Man/Giant Man/Goliath/Yellowjacket a third or even fourth rate character? Maybe I’ve missed something in the 48 years since I stopped collecting Avengers.

    Go-go checks were added to attract attention to DC books in the spinner racks. You knew they were DC books when you saw the checks peaking out from behind the rows of books.

    Not crazy at all. I wouldn’t trade my run of Vol 1 ASM 2-441 for the AF 15 and ASM 1 I’m missing. My facsimile reprint of AF 15 and CGC 9.0 GRR of ASM 1 will do until I win the lottery.

    Finally...this was a difficult issue for me to find back in the day. None of the drug stores in our area had it for some reason. I finally lucked into a copy some time later at a general store in cottage country when we went to visit some family friends. I was thrilled.
