Anyone know what the print run was on the third print?
i think 20K.
-
Here was the other nicer Adams book I sent in with the Bats #227 courtesy of an auction lot win last year. The seller had it as a VF-, but it looked great to me when I received it:
was the seller 'oakman'?
-
i honestly think this thread is hyping the eff out of the book. the book isn't supahot. it just has a production defect, which many of you think it's hard to find in high grade. it's not. think GI Joe 21.
-
Dang! I have to say, version 2 made my jaw drop!
yep yeppers.
-
Someone just put a CGC 9.6 on Ebay for $275.
if that was a no reserve auction, the book would maybe close at $125.
-
congrats!
re: oakman's grading.

Kyle is usually good if you send him an e-mail asking him for payment and mentioning that you do not want to go to NPB report.
the point is you shouldn't have to threaten the winner with a email. i think the dude is just slow on the short bus.

i'd rather have the stain or foxing on the BC, i can't do color breaking corner creases.
-
So if the assumption is a 9.8 would go for $500, what would a 9.6 example sell for?
$25
-
looks 9.0/9.2 by your scan.
-
FWIW, I am beginning to think that chasing 9.0/9.2 books with a 9.4/9.6 front and a tiny ding on the back that drops the grade is the way to go since 1) in a slab or mylar the front cover is all you can see and 2) they cost a great deal less than a 9.4+ copy.
i do this every time. it's all about how the book presents it self and the front cover is what i always see first.

he'll pay if you send a NPB alert. but don't wait 30 days like i did, send it ASAP when eBay allows it.

back in '87 i owned the 3rd print of #1, 2nd print of #2, and the rest 3-8 were first prints along with raphael one shot.
-
there's no way in hell that the 2nd print will ever be worth more than the 1st print. the numbers don't lie. 1st print has the lower print run. don't be the fool.
-
more like $500 on a good day.
-
Am I reading the wrong listing or does the census now say there are 5 9.8 first prints?
i sure hope that dude that bought it from his LCS, that had the first CGC 9.8, sold like i told him too way back.
-
doesnt look like an 8.5 to me :<
That's the same CGC 8.5 on bob's site.

Yes, i always buy my VF copper slabbed. What a thought out and cost effective solution.this why you should always buy slabbed books.
be sarcastic all you want. but it's the truth. if the OP did, he wouldn't be having this problem. we all know that grading is subjective on raw books.
-
this is my 2 cents:
seller got his money and moved on.
i think you need to move on too.
this why you should always buy slabbed books.
out the seller.
good luck

"like new" my effin arse.

seller must be hurting for cash. that was a good deal for the buyer.
Wolverine 35???? Tough to find in high grade?

remember when dungeoness was looking and offering money for the longest time for a GI Joe 21 CGC 9.8? it's basically the same thing. it's not even worth my time to look for one.
