Probably because that's what the one on Heritage just went for....
-J.
Yeah but guessing the seller fees at heritage are a lot higher than on eBay. Probably would have been a wash.

The buyer of that auction didn't end up getting the book! The seller was selling it for a friend and the friend decided not to sell it after the auction was over because he wants $28,000 plus. Horrible situation for the buyer!
That's slimy as hell. Screws the eBay account holder and the buyer. What a piece of garbage.

Willing to listen to offers through PM, but ultimately wins out.

If a 115 of us go in for $100 each, we can all be owners. Each of us gets three days each year with it... like the Stanley Cup

It's already worth $3 to $5, but it has been discounted since about 2013 and lots of sellers/shops haven't noticed and pulled them from the dollar boxes.
Good to know... I'll start taking a look

1,000 copies of Harbinger #3 (2012) pulled from $1 discount boxes around the country.
First appearance of the "new" Livewire for the Valiant Universe, important character in multiple series including Secret Weapons being written by the Oscar-nominated writer of Arrival (movie).
About 16,000 printed. $1 each. Buy 1,000.
Doing your handle justice.
Course if it went to $10, then hey!

Very nice.... especially since there are a fixed number of Steve Dillon SS books in the world now. GLWTS!

Thing is I wouldn't sell it if it did hit 9.8.

With respect, the market proves you wrong.
Rarity does guarantee demand because it CREATES demand - be it an ASM #667 Dell 'Otto, Bloodshot #0 with Platinum printing error, Maxx 1/2 Blue Foil Edition or Uncle Scrooge #179 in CGC 9.6.
If it is anyway exclusive, someone will want it, and the prices reflect this.
True but then not every rare comic is going to be In demand either.

Basing future value on the possibility of a movie or TV option is what's wrong with speculation today. The worst part is that the values for those aren't like they used to be. There are multiple options and characters announced every month, even weekly.
On the other hand if you can get one before the announcement and then flip on the hype, be some good potential profit albeit not long term investing

Venom #6 Todd McFarlane Remastered 1:1000 Variant CGC 9.8
Hey, everyone,
I just got the grade back on my Venom #6 1:1000 variant. It's a CGC 9.8.
I'm seeing if there's any interest through the boards here before I post it to Ebay. I will have it in hand within a week.
As of now, I'm asking $3500 (negotiable) via PayPal invoice. I've done payment plans with board members in the past. If you're more local, maybe we could even do a cash and trade. I'll be at Wizard World Philly at the end of the month, if that even helps.
Shipping in the U.S. is free. Book will be packaged securely and shipped with insurance and signature confirmation.
Please PM me with any interest or questions. I've attached a screenshot of the grade. I can provide links to references from the boards or my Ebay seller's profile upon request.
Thanks! Have a great day!
Nice!

That'd be awesome... I was watching the one that just sold on ebay for close to $25K.

To get the topic back on track... this is a really sweet book.
After 17+ years of CGC grading, there are still only 40 CGC 9.6 and only 23 CGC 9.8 blue labels. The first printing was only 3,275 copies (plus or minus 50 copies).
Good luck with the sale!
I've seen two of my grail books for sale in the last two days and neither of which I have the cash to buy
One day... one of these in a 9.6 or 9.8 will be mine...

Interior signatures don't require green labels.
Wow... I did not know that. I'm curious why that's the case and it doesn't affect the grade on the book?
-
If it is signed, how did it get a blue label and not a green one?

RMA, I'm having some difficulty with the quoting, but here is your exact quote from page 10:
"The thing that is making an SS book valuable is its condition, not the signature. The signature only amplifies the value that already exists, if any."
So is this admission that you're barking mad?
In reality, Rarity and Desirability equate the value of the book. Grade and signatures increase or decrease the base value of the book.
