Right, when I first purchased I initially thought the red Waac heavy, not that it was black, but CGC has confirmed it, as black error.

Hey all, Been lurking on here awhile, posting when I can. I thought I would post this up on here as this board seems to have the some of the most knowledgeable people in the hobby. Working on pricing this book out with GPA Analaysis, but while doing that I am also trying to research actual photos of past sales. All of the Venom Lethal Protector stampings I have seen show an either all black background, or a thin red boarder around Venom. I have yet to see one as I have. If anybody can post pictures of theirs, or know of copies that look like mine it would be greatly appreciated. Book has been returned CGC 8.0 but posting these pictures as its more clear. Overpaid for a Teen Titans 9.8 from my LCS. It was cgc'd, but I never researched the prices.....got back into the game last year and new I wanted the first appearance back in my PC. Althought with the new JL cameo in the movies, could probably break even now.

There is a comic shop and tattoo parlor out near my in Las Vegas, never been to it. For a short period of time there was also a guy that ran a place in the back of an Ethiopian Market...lol, true story. Neither lasted long. Think it was called Back Room Comics.

I just say worth asking, that's all. I had a book come with a damaged case from another auction house, asked for them to cover shipping back for it to be reslabbed and they did. I could have sent it back without asking....but that would have done me no good.

And on top of that my LCS was shorted their first print. Luckily they snagged me a second print.

He has been doing more with the Retailer exclusives I believe. Don't get me wrong, I am not defending what he is doing though, more just playing devils advocate. But his covers are under more pressure to be exotic, elaborate and desired then your average big 2 interior artist.

I think the issue may be that do to his popularity, he is getting pressure to do more and more covers and this is resulting him swiping or taking inspiration from other art. I can only the imagine the pressure there is to come up with these ideas multiple times a month let alone draw them. While the Phoenix and Mary Jane are clear swipes, I see the Batman Who Laughs cover to be more of an inspiration or coincidence. All all credit to the original artist...but Mattinas is far superior.

I have never had the exact same situation, but I routinely have my card declined at Conventions due to AMEX Fraud protection. Since the square accounts are usually based out of their hometown, it flags because it things somebody is using the card in say, Missouri, when I am in Las Vegas. Now the transactions don't show up as denied on my statement or account, I just get a text message that tells be to verify the purchase and have the merchant re-swipe. My guess is they were using the con's wifi and maybe somebody was intercepting your info (just for data), and maybe this was causing whatever merchant devise he had from getting your card info from the cc company, resulting in a denial.

I by from my LCS. When I used to purchase alot of modern books for reading purposes I would order through DCBS, but don't have the time to read as much anymore.

I haven't read it yet, but picked up quite a few. Will hopefully read it tonight. I think the print run was 70k and its selling like crazy on the secondary market.
